You say that as if people don’t buy gold for anything else like boosts, carries, BoEs, professions, etc… Are GDKPs common in retail? No. Do people still buy gold? Yep.
Blizz… you are listening to the very loud minority. GDKPs are a good system. It will not stop gold buyers and sellers. Please rethink and go back on your decision before we all quit.
lmao, sure buddy
The issue isnt about people being mad at GDKPs because they cant afford them, the issue is that people see GDKPs as one of the main reasons why Botters are such a big problem on servers. And Since blizzard banned them for that reason im assuming blizzard has that data on it
They’ll still be complaining about the cost of items on the AH because RMT isn’t going to change. The GDKP runs won’t magically switch to MS > OS runs so they’ll still be complaining they can’t get into pug raids.
I participated in a few gdkps around the release of zul’gurub then realized the prices were inflated beyond that which a single person could reasonably farm(ie… rmt is involved) so I promply washed my hands of it.
Yes people buy Mplus boosts all the time in retail, i would say raid boosts\mplus boosts are likely the main driver of wow tokens.
You have no idea on what Gold buyers spend money on as a total, only blizzard knows that and they are banning GDKPs so its highly likely it was a big cause of botting which ruins the economy and grinding\gold farming for normies. Obviously people buy gold for a range of reasons but to say GDKPS are not a big driver is just ignorant
Bye, if u really think that you’re ignorant.
I like the new profession stuff for the non armor profs.
As an Alch the potion sounds fun, but any change you can change it so druids do not pop out of form to drink a potion?
If you cant get into a BFD raid group without buying gold you shouldnt be going to BFD. Its one of the easiest raid groups to get into
involuntary gdkp celibate mentality
It doesnt take much critical thinking to see that it quickly got out of control in late classic and the trend continued through tbc and wrath. lmao
Let’s be real, banning GDKPs in game will result in nothing. You know what else is against ToS? Buying gold, using real money to buy boosts and pay for raid clears. You know what people still do? Those things exactly.
All this is doing is banning a way of raiding that has been present in the game since Wrath, possibly earlier. People will still run GDKPs just via Discord instead of in game advertising for it. Any time a ban is placed on something, a new route of doing it becomes available.
Stated in the article, “We also recognize that there are concerns surrounding the erosion of traditional guild and social structures that are a part of the spirit of Season of Discovery” is something of a joke. GDKPs do nothing to dismantle the “spirit of classic”, if anything it makes the game more popular. It’s a route that a lot of players use to earn gold, as well as use their gold they earned. Blaming something as not being part of the “spirit of classic” is the exact reason why SoM failed with removal of certain things. Reconsider this decision.
Blaming GDKPs and banning anyone that wants to participate in them is a cop out for gold selling and RMT.
And if we’re talking about purely phase 1 if you think 10-20g is so much it requires RMT you should go back to basic questing.
I have 8 level 25’s and am in a small guild. I often attend GDKP’s as a way to make gold/level up my alts that there is no room in my guild runs. Blizzard is overstepping here and I pay for 2 subscriptions. Next thing you know you will tell me what character I can and can’t play on what times/days of the week. All this coming from a company that can’t even control their EEO issues in house. I will be cancelling my subscriptions if I am even questioned about any loot that I attain on a raid. You know how to not make money? Piss the people off that actually have money…You would think watching the dumpster fire over at Budweiser would clue you in.
Blizzard trying to tell people they are playing the game wrong again… We all know how well this usually works out.
I have hosted hundreds and hundreds of gdkps on era and traded well over a million gold on era since the clustering. I actually just had staff drop in a bfd and man dropped 200g on it no one even bid him up then he put another 100g in the pot because it was all he had and all he ever wanted. GDKP is BiS because Gold is WoW’s universal language. Look the issue is not “gold buying” it’s gold SELLING and BOTS. Bots are a direct result of the greed created by gold selling, more than anything the root cause of it all is the paywall we all pay to play this game. The fact it cost’s 15$ USD a month is what leads to people spending money on the game, also limits a vast majority of people from being able to play the game or wanting to. Seek first to understand then to be understood. People who “buy gold” simply just want to play the game at peak levels, why persecute them and the raid style the fits their lifestyle best.
Do you do any GDKPs? No because if you did you would know that items being posted in trade and on the AH are priced much higher than the majority of loot in the GDKPs. And you literally proved my point saying that in retail people are buying boosts/gold when there aren’t GDKPs. Talking about ignorance, look in the mirror.
Banning GDKP is
Heyooo, THIS BETTER BE A JOKE. PALADINS GOT A RUNE CONVERTING THEIR ATTACK POWER TO SPELLPOWER, BUT SHAMANS DON’T? THAT’S AN ENHANCEMENT EXCLUSIVE EFFECT, YOU BETTER SWITCH THAT IMMEDIATELY.
