Banning GDKPs will do nothing to stop the real issue of botting/RMT. People will still buy gold so they don’t have to farm gold for other things they want like boosts, carries, BoEs, professions, crafted gear, etc…

As some have mentioned, GDKPs are a fun and rewarding way to gear alts outside of the 1-2 raids your guild offers. I never worry about being ninja’ed or people leaving if you wipe like in pugs. Usually you end up running with the same people often and form a community which is similar to a guild. Bad decision that limits how people want to play the game.

Botting will forever be a problem, and hey they buy subs too, and again when they get banned, and again when they banned /repeat infinitely…

I would agree with whats said, but you cannot deny GDKP culture is deeply rooted in gold buying and even if youre not the one buying the gold, I would venture a large portion of every gdkp pot was bought gold at some point.

Good thing im in like 3 different GDKP. Including the server which has GDKP section
as long as nobody inside the run is snitch it will be fine.

Absolute and extreme sadness from seeing the pally rune. The spirit of vanilla was to be a SPELL power tank, now paladin’s are just roleplaying warriors. Extremely disappointing and honestly disheartening.

The vast majority of pots simply don’t go for enough gold that there’s any reason to think they involve RMT.

What you’re going to see is no decrease in botting or RMT but less raids being run that are taking pugs.

It seems like a tall order, but they can do stuff like disable gold trading in dungeon and also make loot lose the 2 hour trade window when you zone out. That’s probably where I’d start.

Of course you could still do bidding, trade items, and then pay after you zone out…but between being banned and making GDKPs go hard with the honor system it becomes a bit more difficult to pull off.

I can’t wait to see the insane drop in raids ran in phase 2 because the GDKP leads won’t have the incentive to run 5-10 raids a reset like they were this phase

That’ll just mean ticket sells before you ever enter the raid. You buy all healer gear for 150g for instance for the entire run for instance

Hoping the warlock rune Invocation is changed into one of the skill books. its something beneficial to all specs of warlock and as a rune slot, it doesn’t offer the same kind of power - its way more quality of life than a Rune should offer.

GDKP seem cheap now. but near end game when gold is inflated 100x what it was in classic it would of been min bids or 5k gold

they ban 100k accounts every time they do ban waves. they’ve tried everything. at the end of the day the players need to decide they don’t want to do GDKP anymore and just stop joining them.

Really that 2h rune seems almost too amazing. A permanent 30% attack speed buff as long as you are attacking something?

Finally, I’m curious as to how yall are planning to do this.

Anybody that touts how perfect gdkps are a liar. I’ve been through them, constantly screwed out of bonuses crappy raids that still had grey parsers not to mention the carries.

we may not be there yet, but lets not forget Gressil selling for 198k gold back when we did lv60 naxx, if they start early, mabe we wont make it that far again. You cant tell me that was bought with legit gold.
