Please don’t bring unrelated information into this thread as it isn’t needed, nor belong here. More so when what you want is basically opening the door for anyone to impersonate someone else to get into accounts.
Please don’t be insulting for no reason. What you have isn’t the same, much less something that are often warned about and often pointed out to do beforehand when switching phones or key app’s battery dies.
It is not what Zengy is saying, but more of what could happen. Blizzard can not help your friend through you. They can not help another person through a third party.
Please start your own thread (actually, SHE should start her own thread) if you want to discuss this.
There is no “runaround”. There are specific processes they need to go through, because scammers/hackers love lax rules to remove authenticators from people’s accounts. She will have to prove she’s the registered owner of the account by providing specific information.
One thing that trips up a lot of people is they will receive an e-mail requesting this information, with the instructions to open a new ticket and reference the first ticket number. But people will simply reply to the e-mail, which is a noreply address and not monitored. So they reply and wait for weeks for a response that never comes.
If there’s any specific questions she has about the process she’s been through and what to do next (or different), then have her create a thread and we can help her much better than responding to a third-party’s snide comments in an unrelated thread.
I think this thread needs to be closed.
If your friend put in a ticket to have the old Authenticator / Phone Number removed they should have received an email asking account specific questions. She would then need to open a new ticket with those answers, referencing the previous ticket ID.
The only “runaround” I can think of that might happen is if she is either replying to the original email instead of opening a ticket or have been unable to answer enough of the questions successfully.
If she can provide a ticket ID I might be able to take a look, but I would encourage starting a new thread.
