Idk if you guys realize how good thisll b for PvP. But even LAST SSN there was over 1000 people between 2399-2300 in 3s. Now take the fact glass is in that threshold and imagine how many more people will be pushing to get glad, naturally inflating the ladder.
Yes, pve players are still going to come up to you and ask where you got that mount, don’t worry.
Just because they reduced the threshold doesn’t mean your title isn’t cool anymore.
This also jumpstarts the 3s bracket by about a month. I’m currently sitting around 2300mmr for a majority of my 3s games, which means if I keep playing the same, I wont start getting glad wins for about a month or two…
On top of the glad mount not being an ugly bat… lets just hope they add a mount to shuffle and blitz as well, but for anyone saying this is a bad change, most likely has never even touched glad, or your only glads are shadowlands, so shut up
Hmmm I think the number doesn’t matter much, 100 rating lower just means done sooner in the season.
You’ll still experience a bottleneck whether the rating required is 2600 or 2300 it would still be the same names because now instead of done for the season with your 50th win at 2540 you’re done with the 50th win at 2380 or whatever.
I’m sure there’s a lot of people that could get it now but don’t that will be more motivated to try
For this first season we’re definitely going to give unchained a run for its money on how many mounts go out
You can do whatever you want to numbers, but pvers are really only ever going to pvp if there’s an incentive to do so, whether it’s a cool mount or pve gear.
I think they should have both, but there are 6 pvers in my guild trying pvp for the first time this season because they want the s3 astral bat (the only not awful one).
Berzz posting the statistics on the difference between players at 2300 and 2400; most seasons it was only a few hundred to a 1000 or so. The news will definitely motivate many to try tho, so that alone I think will raise participation even if it’s just a small amount. First season tends to have a lot of hype around it as well. Who knows we’ll see.
Right but those same people will now be stuck at 2200. Maybe not the first season because new xpac+lower Glad hype but eventually 2300 will be the new 2400.
This was my knee jerk reaction but honestly shuffle and to a larger extent blitz made all the PvP rewards drastically easier to get, I’ll take the mounts being a little more freebie whatevs
I think what you mean is the people stuck below glad range will now be 2200 instead which is true yes; but the people who have been jusssssst out of reach will now have a much better chance. Hell, the 2100-2200 players may even try harder now.
Already posted my take. It was already butchered with the statistic 2.4k + 50 wins
Idk why do we need a 2.3k srsly.
Its FINE to have things youre only aspiring to. And it shouldnt be only r1.
Also glad mounts are account wide.
I hate the new generations with their instant gratification fixation
This mentality doesnt work when theres 0 incentive or reason to even play it. Maybe in real world scenarios, but not wow pvp. Glad has been harder to obtain and became more exclusive than ever, they had to lower the threshold to make up for lack of participation.
You shouldnt have to work harder for a reward you used to be able to get… you cant go from bfa and sl levels of accessibility to glad and then cut it in a 1/3rd with 0 fixes.
When it was % based, much more people were playing, by legion it was hard again, but that’s why it changed. Pre legion glad was much easier relatively.
Give us a tyranny recolor at 2.4 to compensate imo.
I stand by the Legion → BfA change being bad for the game but oh well, can’t do anything about it now.
Imo, they have the tech to make some sort of hybrid between pre-BfA & post-BfA but they’re lazy so all they decided to do was make glad 2300 (won’t help anything but eh).
