Give Worgen Tails (Part 2)

Ultimately, lore is a strawman nonsense argument since lore isn’t the driving factor in this, design is.

I’m not a Worgen player so I’ll let this be my last post and move along.

If it’s a design choice then they designed Worgen without tails. Why would they all the sudden have them now? It isn’t a hair colour or hair style. You would be essentially adding an appendage that never existed before.

I would say there are a lot of cultural, mythological references to Werewolves and the vast majority do not have tails. As for the gnome with horns, gnomes originated in folklore as demons that labored in mines and played tricks on miners. Hence why I’ve been using horns but the same applies. Blizzard designed gnomes without horns so why ask for them? Just be happy that you have a werewolf race to play.

That is still not lore saying they can’t have a tail. I know reading is hard for you to understand but if you go back and look we are asking for tails to be optional and a lore reason to be added in the form of a gift from Goldrinn. So ya I guess Im still going to be waiting for the mythcial lore of Worgen can’t have tails that so many come in claiming and still have never proven it.

Also correct me if Im wrong but did you just try and point out a lore claim from a Wiki page? You know the thing anyone in the world can edit and add whatever they want to have it say? HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! Thank you I needed a good laugh today.

That person also isn’t quoting lore… they’re quoting a dev talking about the current design of wow to begin with so. Once again there is no lore that says one way or another if tails are possible for Worgen.

Tomorrow we could have a worgen show up with a tail and he could explain it as having it forever or from a ritual or from just using the worgen form too much and that would be lore.

Nothing else so far has been lore derived that says they cannot have a tail and since we’re asking for optional tails its a moot argument even then.

Like removing a finger? lol

I still think they should be mandatory

Eh I’m more a fan of the option. Some folk like em without some like em with. I’ll personally probably used the tail if its ever added cause I think it makes em look better overall but I don’t begrudge those who don’t want to use it.

I do dislike people claiming its some lore restriction when it very obviously isn’t. lol

too late for options, everyone must have tails

I wouldn’t say it’s a strawman even, just that it’s completely irrelevant.
Nothing in lore changes or is affected by it. Even the instance they retracted of Genn with a tail wouldn’t change, because it’s optional and thus not all Worgen would even have it.
It’s a flimsy argument that presupposes some contradiction with existing lore where none exists.

Blizzard ret-conned the ‘lore’ of Tauren to give them antlers. They did the same to create Lightforged Draenei, and added to known lore to introduce nearly all the allied races…so there is absolutely no reason Blizzard couldn’t ret-con or add to Worgen lore togive them a tail.

And here we go again…“an appendage out of nowhere makes no sense!”

Neither does a huge increase in body mass out of nowhere, a height gain of nearly two feet, digitigrade (animal) legs, full-body fur, and an elongated face full of three inch fangs. None of that makes sense…except in a fictional fantasy universe based on magic, where beings can change into beasts, summon lightning from their fingers, and ride dragons to and fro.

Strange, fantastic and NEW things occur on Azeroth all the time. Compared to these, Worgen tails are a nothing-burger, and honestly, rather silly to contest.

Let’s not forget sometime between Warcraft III, 2003 when Samewise drew this, and today, all tauren Tauren lost a finger.

That illustration shows what appears to be a hunter (bow and quiver on his back)…but with an axe, shield and spear as well. It reminds me of old times when it used to be that ‘all gear is hunter gear’.

“Don’t invite any hunters! They’ll need on everything!”

Heh. Good times…

I think the original intent with hunters was to be a class that could jump in and out of melee combat. I did a lot of that in GW2 and it was a pretty fun playstyle, but not something that would fit in WoW without some significant modification.
