That isn’t a discord link. Wowpedia is just really grumpy about direct links to their pictures.
https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/wowpedia/images/e/e8/Tauren_Hunter.jpg will likely work for someone that hasn’t angered the forum gods yet.

I’m talking about the post above mine with a clearly 404d discord link.

I assumed he just reposted it :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

Also, wowpedia bad and outdated. Should use the updated warcraft wiki

First one is your wowpedia one, that gets upscaled and is all blurry and ugly. Second one is a link from the warcraft wiki that isn’t downscaled to begin with.

Anyone else snickering at the fact that Tauren ain’t got a tail… well that’s it no more tails for Tauren clearly… you see that naysayer posters, that’s how you sound. It’s silly. Now just let us keep asking for an optional tail in peace. It’s not going to be the end of the world if we get an optional tail.

damned pains they are… I’ll do the imgur way next time. lol

Here’s my hot take on why worgen tails make sense and Gnome horns don’t.

The aesthetics of WoW races have to be evaluated not only from the perspective of what would look cool for people playing them, but also from the function they serve in the “set-dressing”. A player in WoW expects a certain level of immersion which depends in large part on what other players look like.

The question then becomes, what do players expect from this race? When I see a gnome, what would fit right in with their aesthetic, and what would take me out of my sense of immersion? The limit depends on the person, but I think we can all agree that “horns” isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when you visit Gnomeregan.

Back on worgen tails. Do they make sense in the context of WoW? Would a new player look at the werewolf race and be taken aback by the fact that they have an option for wolf tails? I’m personally more surprised by lightforged draenei being able to play as a warlocks, or regular draenei with the man’ari customisation being able to play as paladins. I think that undead having so many possible eye colours takes away from their cohesive aesthetic. Why do female pandaren have a tail option based on real-life red pandas when those are a completely different species to actual pandas?

As I said, the limit has to be drawn somewhere. But the point where giving worgen tail options would be out of place has been exceeded for a while, if it ever existed at all.

That Christie Golden, several hearthstone cards and that boardgame cover have all at one point placed tails on Worgen, maybe that also suggests a tailed Worgen isn’t too far out of the realm of being conceivable.
As you point out, the same mistake is a lot less likely to be made with other races and horns, tails, etc.
I still really want a choice of a tail for Worgen.

Look no one in thier right mind would ever make a Man’ari Eredar Paladin!

Do you think Midnight would do character customization options as a feature instead of more races and classes?

long as it’s not just more options for elves or god forbid adding another elf like race yeah that’d be fine, would be real nice if worgen got the option of a tail in Midnight as honestly that’s something that would motivate me to go after it as I’m not really interested in player housing

I really hope that if they do customization again they actually seriously go for it and do all races…

Also give worgen optional tails.
