Give us Vanilla, NOT pre-TBC with gated content

Since when is the private server community some weird “niche” community? They’re just playing original WoW, like anyone else will be in a couple months. There are many reasons why the private server population is smaller in numbers than future Classic: high ping, non-permanent characters, cash shops, lack of advertising, etc. Doesn’t mean that they’re some outlier.

The petition for classic had more signatures than Nost had accounts created.

Never said they were a “weird niche community” but fact is private servers are niche. For the many reasons you listed and then some.

But you implied that they represent a different “audience” when in reality, there’s not much of a tangible difference between a private server player and any other player that will be playing Classic. Sure there are hardcore players within the private server scene that represent a hardcore player (which is a different audience than a casual player, for example), but private servers, just like Classic, represent both extremes and everything in between.

Yeah it’s “room.”

As I’ve said in a number of threads, CRBGs were to prop up a failing player distribution model that saw dead realms and massively unbalanced realms faction-wise. It was not for TBC, it was because Vanilla’s underpinned imbalances were becoming more pronounced in the PVP area.

You mean, because the guy doing the Shaman revamp Q&A forgot to post the thread, and they delayed it because they hadn’t gotten feedback?

Blizz could give you a million dollars and you would come here and complain it’s not 2 million. You people will never be happy.

That’s a hell of a lot less than the billions of dollars we’ve given them over the years. You’d think they’d try a little harder.

This, take this seriously.

Imagine if when McDonalds brought back the Szechuan sauce, they used much cheaper ingredients than they did originally. Would it then be okay for them to say that they discontinued it because people didn’t like the sauce just like now?

If February is winter, why does Winter Break end in January?

Just as Winter Break doesn’t last all winter, neither does Summer Break last all summer.

Shhh. We were in nonsense phase at that point, 21 days ago…

I wish more people understood this. Even back in Vanilla and even with “less experience” vanilla was never hard.

Ninja gaiden was hard. Dark souls was hard. I could name 100 really hard games, and this one wouldn’t be anywhere to be seen. WoW was and is a game that deliberately catered to CASUAL audiences.

Yes, but they didn’t release it in the nerfed state it’s in now.

The content is clearly overtuned OP.

Blizzard’s opinion doesn’t matter much when you realise that the only good games at Blizzcon last year were rereleases.

They’re not going to “patch by patch” this whole game. That would be ridiculous to even try. You should be thankful for what you’re getting. It took all these years just to get this much. You’re not going to get a perfect recreation of classic from 1.0 onwards, even if they tried. You just have to accept this, or you could not play on it. Recreating classic, as it was, would mean everyone downgrading their hardware, internet, etc, and inducing server crashes, along with tons of already fixed bugs, exploits, and so on. It’s not happening. Just trying to recreate the game is tons of work and generating enough problems of its own.

So we should be thankful after years of asking that we are getting a half baked version? We pay them for the game, not the other way around. Also buffing and reverting nerfs is insignificant compared to what they already did.

I agree on the fact that not getting all the nerfs could be a good thing for Classic.
It’s gonna be a static game so having a longer and more challeging game may just increase it lifespan.

Especially if those nerfs don’t make the game impossible but just more challenging and were part of Vanilla. So it’s #nochange and more fun.

Warts and all no changes please. But maybe they could add in some OP reverts back into Classic once the new gear has been established. You know how bliz loves to give the completionists a sudden new horizon to log back in for even if they’re new old changes.
