Give us Dual spec so the game is fun

With tokens in the game we won’t need dual specs we’ll have enough gold to spec as many times as we want to

They’re probably people that only do one type of content or they’re lucky cause their one build fits in multiple categories… like feral druid

It feels horrendous to do my raid nights Wednesday and Sunday but if I ever want to pvp I have to respec and obviously not arena 100% when I’m raiding, so if I decide to go do dungeons I’ll need to respec again… what exactly do I gain from absolutely destroying my gold?

+1 dual spec

Dual spec is the best and it should come out with arenas. The gold cost for respec isn’t stopping anyone and its just less convenient. Guess it’s a reason to look forward to Wrath though!

Unsure what you find nonsensical there, but otherwise brilliant job demonstrating your lack of comprehension and blatantly quoting out of context of the post. Not worth it, you take care now.

As a tank main… yes please. Prot warrior feels so useless outside of instances.

haven’t been creative enough with gear, procs and stats. No your not going to be pvp’ing regularly, but 2 certain trinkets + a shield with a damage proc and shield spike and set with higher block, aoe farm no problems, laugh even harder when you spell reflect the lock/mage that thinks they’re being cool and they 1 shot themselves. SBV not worth stacking in tbc, smart play with charge stuns and conc blow and bashes/pummels, execute with S+B still hurts, so can be worth it for pvp if it happens.

I honestly wouldn’t mind a dual spec if the secondary spec could only be used in battlegrounds and arenas. It’s a shame classes like Prot Paladins etc are basically forced to either pick PvP or PVE

Oh no, the sentences and words make perfect sense. The problem is YOU’RE nonsensical. Nothing about dual spec was reflected in your weird anti-boost tangent, which you then spiral off again into declaring everyone who enjoys end game as liars.

And then there’s this gem. “You don’t get to enjoy both PvP and PvE, but in magic christmas land you can do this in an ultra rare 1v1 scenario!”

This is why I’m convinced anyone who’s opposing dual spec is 100% just a troll. You’re conflating way too many of the typical forum goer doomsday troll topics and then try to bargain with people over how they should be enjoying the game.

I think its pretty simple, if I wanted to play WoW with the conveniences of retail then I would play retail.

On a side note about that “poll” that was mentioned, I’m sure if you also polled people on if they wanted dungeon finder and LFR in TBC Classic they’d vote for that too. The vast majority of the things introduced into the game that a lot of people who play Classic consider ruined retail are things that the majority of the community wanted. Dungeon finder, LFR, Cross Realm, etc. Its also funny to note that as soon as these things started getting implemented WoW started its mass subscriber exodus. Maybe this would be an actual case of “You think you do but you don’t”.

Personally I hope that when they release WotLK Classic they keep Dungeon Finder out until the final phase. And they actually redo the WotLK pre-expansion event. This time for the full intended duration. Caved back then, caved for the SLs version of it, hopefully 3rd time is the one where they don’t cave.

And no, I am not trolling. Just because someone has a differing opinion than you on the internet does not mean they are trolling. I think part of your problem is you have a retail WoW mentality. Your used to being able to play whatever spec you want at a moments notice and you want to be a jack of all trades by being able to swap specs with no downside. That effectively makes your choice on which spec you play meaningless. I like being a Protection Paladin, or a Retribution Paladin, etc. I’m not just a paladin that will do whatever everyone else wants me to. If I’m Prot and a group needs a healer then I’ll just look for a group that needs a tank. If I want to PvP I’ll do it as Prot or pay to respec while I PvP, then pay again to swap back.

Disagree, can confirm game is fun without dual spec. I play a druid, four specs to choose from. Still fun.

Respec being available at all makes your spec choices meaningless. Not sure how many times this needs to be pointed out, especially to people who literally say it themselves like you just did by the end of your monologue.

And as typical for the trolls arguing against it, you added in other crap from retail in your argument. A first being the Wrath launch event, but still, nothing at all to do with dual spec. Stick to the point, or accept your troll label.

Not everyone has thousands of gold to spam respec.

Its almost like I said

and

There are reasons I brought up those other things when having a conversation about a game change that makes the game more convenient. Surely you can understand that.

How this is an argument against dual spec, I’ll never know, but you shouldn’t be held back from enjoying your character with such minor hurdle as your spec. Again, I’m arguing for dual spec as someone who most certainly spent at bare minimum enough for the initial flying in respec costs. How dare someone want to both PvE and PvP efficiently, I know, it’s just so very offensive to your “non retail” sensibilities.

Yes, you rambled on completely unrelated tangents, painting a broader picture of your particular retail boogeyman.

I was really hoping the dual spec people would give up by the time TBC was here. If you’re bored you should probably find a different game. Dual spec doesn’t belong in TBC and no, most people do not want it added. It’s just that the people who do are really loud.

Because it makes you think about what spec you want to play, rather than mindlessly switching to suit your needs.

You know its not the end of the world in a game with mechanics as simple as Classic if you can’t min/max everything about the game. If min/maxing is whats fun for you then hey, you do you. But things like that are what kill retail for me.

Except they’re not unrelated, they all have something in common, convenience.

Bwahahahahaha! TBC is easy mode compared to the soul-sucking grind that is retail.

I have mixed feelings about dual spec. Dealing with a 50g fee for swapping talents was a core part of the game. That said, it’s pretty punishing for healers once you’re in a progression raiding spec. My guild used help healers and prot warriors speed run the SSO dailies so we didn’t have to burn so much gold on respecs.

No thank you.

Exactly, and that sort of things is how communities form. This isn’t a solo player game. If your healing/tanking spec and doing outdoor content is a slog get a guildie to help you. I’m sure they appreciate your sacrifice of playing a tank/healer so that they can run instanced content and would be more than willing to help you out. If they’re not then maybe that guild isn’t the right fit for you and you should find one that is willing to help you.

Now everyone wants to be able to do everything by themselves. Which by the way lead to group finder and lfr. Why make a group or join a guild and get to know people when you can just hit a button and wait, then not talk to anyone. What a great MMORPG experience.
