No you can’t. There’s no data to tell us who cared about which of those changes to what degree. Perhaps they hated the lfd but didn’t care about dual spec. Perhaps they didn’t like the changes to the talent trees but didn’t care about the lfd. Perhaps they mainly pvped and didn’t like the new version of pvp but didn’t care about any of the pve changes. You’re making a wild guess as to the reasons based on your personal reasons. It’s a type of confirmation bias.
If I can change specs out of combat in the game world, then I don’t have a spec. I’m rotating specs to fill my current needs. I’m not making any choices, my class is the same as everyone else’s class and I can fulfill multiple roles by switching specs, almost like playing two different characters that switch upon a button click.
If there was no dual spec, this situation would mean I cannot respec in the middle of the game world because my original talent choices mattered and have consequences. It means I need another player to help me do whatever my spec cannot do. That’s an mmo that’s class interdependence. That’s what makes a game feel good.
The typical retail player is so short sighted they can’t see that instant gratification kills the game. That’s you.
let me guess, they’re gonna say “no one’s forcing you to do dual spec, if you want to you can just pick one and stick with it!!!” completely ignoring the social aspect of an MMO.
Do you fools not realize you’re playing classic while retail offers the things you’re posting about wishing was in the game?
“I’m here to play classic, they made classic to be different than retail, but I’m going to seek out and try to create some retail in this classic game space”
I spec arms because I want to PvP. But my friendwho I also PvP with wants me to go tank a thing for them because I’m a great tank. Should I be telling them “go find another player who picked tank talents, this is a social game after all” or do I go, respec real quick because the talents I picked before don’t actually matter, and tank the thing?
arms warriors can tank just fine. you don’t need to be fully specced prot to tank. you’re not in the top tier raiding guild fighting the final boss of WoW and needing to max out every little thing.
You’re not sure what the downsides are, so that means there have to be downsides? That’s not an argument, that’s a cop-out.
You have two specs, a main spec and an off spec, which benefits you and the players around you, including your guild if you have one, because you’re able to fulfill another role if necessary without having to pay excessive amounts of gold eventually. You’re making choices, you’re making a choice of, “Which of my two specs is more ideal for this situation?” Your downside is an upside.
As for the second part, you still need other players to do what the spec you’re currently in can’t do. Dual spec doesn’t let you be a tank and a healer at the same time, as an example.
Oh no! In like two years, maybe a little less, we will not longer be playing BC. Just like when Cata hits, or they make it clear that they’re not going to go beyond WOTLK, the game will inevitably start to die.
Regardless of what people try to claim, or the lies they tell themselves. MOST people play MMOs to progress, and get ready for the “next thing”.
Are you so ignorant that you’re not aware that retail made dozens of changes and we’re only talking about one here? This is the if retail has it it’s bad argument. I quit retail because of changes I didn’t like but some of the changes were improvements to the game. It’s not all or nothing except for black/white thinkers
You are playing classic wow. While your same subscription offers retail game time.
Classic wow was created to be old school and recreate the experience from original vanilla and tbc. It was made purposefully to be different than retail and give players who don’t like retail an mmo to play
You are asking for a feature that’s prevalent in retail to be injected into a classic server.
