In retail is basically a requirement to even be able to kill bosses in top guilds. In Classic it was only for people who wanted to clear the raids within an hour, speed run content, or log. It wasnât remotely necessary in the slightest to kill a boss in Classic.
Coming from a pretty small server that was Alliance dominated, the whole 3 competitive guilds most certainly required all players to have, at minimum, 2 60s for both split raiding and addition head drops.
Certainly not a requirement for most guilds, and especially on healthy servers. But being willing to swap specs at a moments notice most certainly was a requirement for most competitive guilds throughout Classic. Dual Spec would have helped immensely, and still can.
I would love dual spec. I really like having the freedom to change specs around when I want without having to go broke.
But ⌠Once they start making changes here and there, theyâre going to keep making more changes that will make things way worse. We donât want to end up with retail style systems, mythics and pathfinder for flying.
I know thatâs extreme, but different people have different opinions on what makes the game better. There are a lot of people that want tokens and there are probably those who wouldnât mind mythics or world quests. I think it would be in our best interests if they leave game as it was originally.
Sounds like unfun tryhard min/maxing retail mentality. Iâll never tell people theyâre having fun in a game the wrong way, but Iâll certainly never understand why people think its fun to treat WoW like a job and min/max every fun aspect out of the game.
Then the guild can fund the costs of the respec. Not only that but Classic shouldnât need to be changed to fix your top 1% sweatlord tryhard guild.
They already do stuff like this in retail. Mythic raiding is way too difficult for 99% of the playerbase, yet they always balance raids for the top 1% or less. If your guilds like Limit, Echo, Method, etc canât clear a mythic raid in 2 weeks then its completely overtuned unfun min/max garbage.
This is why I refuse to argue with you. If youâd read the thread at all, youâd have already seen the points you made were also presented by Xandracon, with whom I disagreed.
Slippery slope, spec mattering, somehow making good tanks/healers less valuable, and a half dozen others I simply do not recall off the top of my head, are all arguments that have been hashed to death in this thread alone. Let alone other threads on the topic just on this board. So until I see an actual new argument against dual spec, then yes, I continue to hold those who argue against it as trolling.
Because other people arenât allowed to post their opinions if its the same as someone else?
Two things here. You want to see a ânewâ argument because you donât personally agree with all of the other arguments presented. Second you continue to just dismiss everyone who has a different opinion than you as a troll. At this point I have to start wondering if its just you who is the troll.
Anyone on the internet who disagrees with me is a troll guys. If I say the sky is green and someone tells me its blue and gives me scientific reasons why the sky is blue they are just a long winded troll. Nothing to see here, move along.
If someone tells me pizza taste better than chicken they are also trolls, because pizza is disgusting and no one actually likes it.
You and I agree there about not personally understanding it. I would never cut it in any kind of min/max guild. But Iâm also not going to tell people theyâre having fun wrong if crunching numbers and sweating over pixels is their fun.
Certainly entitled to their opinion. However, not entitled to me arguing with it for the hundredth time.
I want to see a new argument because none of them actually matter. From either of us. Dual spec is not in the game. Blizzard hasnât said anything, at all, about dual spec even being slightly considered.
And yet we have you folks in here fighting tooth and nail as if weâre the decision makers. Iâm not calling you a troll because we disagree, Iâm calling you a troll because these arguments are 100% a waste of time, even more so than the game itself.
Could you re-summarize your argument for its inclusion again please? Iâve tried to read through the whole thread, but a lot of your argument for it is basically âit would be convenientâ while just dismissing everyoneâs concerns on the other side.
if you like dual spec just wait for wrath. itâs that simple.
and if youâre impatient, great news, you can play retail.
you have many options. leave tbc classic alone.
Some changes can be good. Dual Spec would be good. The Paladin seal changes and spell batching changes were good. Iâm sure youâll understand all of this if you ever reach a higher level than 20.
Anyone arguing against dual spec in TBC because Classic is authentic no longer has an argument, because Blizzard has already made changes. TBC Classic is not authentic to OG TBC. Trying to say that adding in dual spec would ruin the authenticity is no longer a valid argument because the authenticity is already no longer there.
Wrong. Because of forum posts like these we get things like the boost. Its why Classic went from #NoChanges to #SomeChanges. If it keeps going itâll just turn into #Retail. A lot of us donât want that. You know its bad when Blizzard finally listens to players and releases Classic, private servers virtually die for awhile, then Blizzard monetize it and start making changes, and a lot of people just go back to private servers.
Its not a waste of time. I know its become a bit of a meme but believe it or not Blizzard actually does listen to the community when it comes to lots of stuff. Even in Retail recently theyâve listened to community feedback and ruined events for everyone that enjoyed them, looking at you SLs zombie invasion prepatch.
Iâm almost level 64 (been busy with irl stuff and pushing for CE in retail) and I see no reason for dual spec. Makes my protection paladin feel like a protection paladin and not just a paladin. Iâm having more fun this way.
