Phase 2 has been highlighting how bad the faction imbalances really are. I am a horde player on a horde dominant server and you can really see how bad it is when you go to Thorium point, Blackrock mountain, hillsbrad foothills.
On the first day, after the Alliance gave up in Southshore, i was ganking a grp lvl 50s over and over as that was the only way to gain honor. Those guys, even though they took rez sickness, we found them at the graveyard and kept killing them on the way to their town. They could not hearth. It took them about 40 minutes to finally escape the Horde. It had nothing to do with skill.
I play on a PvP server but i came here because all of my friends did. The biggest thing about wow classic is its community. The game is fun because you feel part of team thatâs working towards certain goals - whether they be clearing content or ranking.
In my opinion this is the most important thing about classic. Phase 2 world domination pvp is going to make alot of these communities shatter because:
Max honor gain is in 1-5man groups which means people are shutting out people regardless of skill because its the best way to gain honor.
.
People on the dominated side of the server legit cannot play the game. Who cares if they rolled on a PvP server. This isnât player vs player. This is Player vs Zerg. My group has delayed raid teams from starting by at least 30mins by ganking key targets. And while thatâs fun for us, i am wholly aware of the impact of a game not being fun for long period of time for the opposite faction. That gives us incrementally smaller players to fight against over time and also directly impacts Activisionâs bottom-line by cutting down on subscribers. And once they quit, itâs going to be harder for you to get them back.
.
People are not enjoying your game. Iâm grinding my honor like the rest of them because we want to hit r13/14, but its just not fun sitting INSIDE Southshore killing people who fly in. It is not fun begging for them to come outside of Ironforge and seeing how defeated they are they just dont engage a party of 10-15 despite outnumbering us. It is not fun killing a lvl 51 hunter over and over because heâs the only one out in the world.
I get it. Right, this is classic. But people are not having fun in your game in Phase 2 because our only method of Honor gain is pummeling people into submission. I canât imagine it is fun for them either. The easy solution is to turn on a battleground and get us going. Turn off BG rewards if you have to, we donât care. But my friends have already been looking to quit because they wanted pvp and played on a pvp server and weâre not even getting that because of our lopsided faction balance.
.
Do not overthink the solution. Give us BGs.
I wholeheartedly agree with this. Iâm dreading even thinking about the queue times for Thalnos horde players when the server is almost 70/30 horde dominated.
I can see it being a problem if it drives people away from playing consistently. I want classic to do well and to keep it as similar to vanilla as possible but letâs face it, servers are way more packed now than in vanilla. If ppl cannot level or even leave town for days, wants the point in playing?
In this thread nobody read the actual post before coming in to troll the OP or theyâd know that the OP is not complaining, rather pointing out the problem from their perspective as a person on the dominant faction on their server.
But itâs become clear over the last few days that the typical forum troll canât read, so of course I expected this.
@OP I agree and it is definitely less fun for them than it is for you, at least youâre benefiting something from it. Theyâre just stuck there getting nothing for their efforts except maybe the ability to TRY and play somewhere else.
They want to troll because they think if they comment everywhere then blizzard might not release bgs early. In reality though given the precedent set by the early DM release, itâs going to happen soon anyway. Let them troll all they want.
Oh, Iâm aware. The goal on their part is to âsilenceâ all of the people posting their problems and experiences. The only issue with that is that Blizzard is not going to allow anything that causes them to lose revenue. Even though the typical WoW PvPer might think itâs a cool idea to drive the enemy faction to other games, Blizzard wonât. Iâm expecting BGs in two weeks or less.
Ya I agree. Bgs early would be great. We run around for hours looking for 1-2 alliance kills. And they wont pvp because they are scared since they are so much outnumbered. It has turned into raid groups camping on normally stealth only ganks.
Iâm sitting at 40K Honor. Try to think ahead and understand the implications or results of the current Honor farm meta. Itâs detrimental to the game and the game is currently unplayable for those on unbalanced servers. Coming from a vanilla wow player, this is not âclassic-like.â The opposing faction my server are getting overpowered everywhere, including their safe zones. no one plays video games to get their asses beat that badly. I am here for the long run and i dont see there being any long run on a pvp server if we make them all quit this month.
Itâs quite interesting to see that when a player from the Horde speaks about the negativity of Phase 2, the thread hardly gets any posts.
But when itâs an Alliance player complaining, you can expect to see at least 100 replies of people saying âQQ stop whingingâ within the first hour.
Right now it is tough being the underdog in a vastly under balanced server and itâs ruining the gameplay.
It shouldnât take my group 45 minutes to walk into BRD, while the opposing faction simply strolls in like its a walk in the park.
I agree, the Southshore PvP is really uninteresting to me, especially when one faction has such an advantage over the other. While I like the smaller group PvP, BGs would be a good solution for people who want medium and smaller scale PvP instead of the zerg of places like Southshore.
Thank you for vocalizing this concern, Mazie. I would say a majority of players are experiencing these same problems.
Many of my friends on both factions are communicating the same negative experience.
Hopefully Blizzard sees the issues here and chooses to take action to rectify the problems or there will most certainly long term ramifications.
Most often Iâll see people just saying âraid logging until BGâsâ⌠the issue with that is at some point theyâre going to just get bored of raiding and cancel their subscriptions altogether.
Then when too many of their friends are gone from the game, why play at all.
The real question at that point will be if BGâs will be enough to bring people back.
Thanks for the post @OP and the constructive replies, all.
PvP servers are just places for sociopaths, neckbeards, petulant children, and scrubs to feel good about themselves despite having no talent or ability. To savor the only power or advantage theyâll likely ever have in their small lives, whether they deserve it or not. Then, when someone points out the woefully broken and imbalanced system, threatening the integrity of their safe space autism echo chamber, itâs because they canât âhandleâ a PvP server. Nah, youâre all just really pathetic human beings (not orcs, trolls, tauren or undead - regardless of what that bumper sticker on the back of your 2004 honda civic says) who only pick fights that are stacked because deep down you know you suck too hard for actual pvp.
I find it amusing that you made a thread to complain about something you had no problem abusing the crap out of, OP. Most Horde on this server have similar integrity. Trash people, virtually all of you.
Please re-read my comments. My entire post was that i do take problem with this system. No alliance guilds would 20v20, 40v40 us. We canât go to Hillsbrad because the alliance gave up. If we hold BRM, you wont get to do any raids or gearing up. I want to spend my time ranking up so i got jump lvl 49 human paladins like you? Nah man, throw me in BGs so i can enjoy this game against people who actually want to pvp.
