The night elves didn’t laugh when they attacked the orcs. Also you used the plural, there was only one person that laughed at the end of that conversation, it could even be weak voice directing, additionally that may or may not have even been a night elf. There are other things in the forest.
But to say because you heard one (singular) voice say “heh” that means the night elves didn’t care about trees in WC3 is entirely wrong.
No idea, I haven’t counted anything.
But I know that they were acting to wipe the Warsong Clan – the last of the Warsong Clan as far as anyone knew – off of the face of the Earth without so much as a how-do-you-do, let alone “Hey, you’re on private property.”
They laughed when orcs were cutting down trees and were acting scared of ghosts.
While they were talking the orcs stopped chopping, they were having a conversation between themselves and one person laughed at the end. The trees don’t really start getting cut down until after the campaign starts which is about when they attack.
But it’s funny that one person saying “heh” makes you think the night elves were retconned to care about trees, actually hilarious.
I did miss that tree getting knocked down, but that not even the relevant part of my post.
The night elves also attack shortly after the campaign starts, likely to get the player a little time to get ready. The one person (not multiple like you were saying) going “heh” does not mean the night elves didn’t care about trees in WC3.
The orcs talking about being haunted by ghosts give context to what is said: it isn’t a conversation, they’re actively pretending to be ghosts to scare the orcs and think it’s funny, because it is.
Man, media literacy is at an all time low on this forum.
The orcs don’t know what they are saying and neither does the player. It could be a conversation, as one talks and then another talks instead of them all talking over each other. It could be spooky whispers to try to get the orcs to leave, but this would really be the only instance of a night elf having fun in WC3, they are pretty much mostly serious especially once they attack about a minute later as they see the orcs having “no respect for life”, as the orcs continue to cut down trees.
I would like to say it’s bad enough Anduin seems like a savior complex. Ah yes the savage monsters need to be humbled by a human who knows not what they struggled through and then the horde being portrayed as monsters glad blizzard kept that pathetic character in shadowlands I don’t want him to return he’s already creepily fetishized by Christie golden and I don’t want to see him or what they did to slyvanas return.
Ffs and we were shown the warning signs of Anduin being portrayed as racist savior complex. Edit: it’s bad enough baine is reduced to an Anduin fanboy because Christie Golden cherry-picks her characters
The orcs think that, and they should have left then, it doesn’t mean the people in the trees aren’t just talking to each other in a language they don’t understand. There is also really no example of the night elves having fun like trying to “spook” someone for fun in WC3. So to then make the leap into
When there is actually no “writing” for night elves here, the first actual line from them is from the huntress when they attack.
I still can’t believe people don’t see the stereotype in Anduin when you look at the lawsuits I should of realized it sooner back in BFA but it was all there
