Give Priests an Interrupt

Thats completely idiotic and ruins deathing CC in PVP if i interrupt the spell instead of it being broken with death im not on DR and they can CC me full DR 2 seconds later. Horrific idea. Interrupts should NEVER be tied to rotational abilities or situational use abilities we saw how trash this was with DH blade dance immune.

I agree.

Iā€™m also really tired of every Priest suggestion being like ā€œgive Priests X thing, but Bwizzardddd uwu, to make you happy-wappy, youā€™re allowed to screw us over on this other thing or take away X thing entirely <3ā€

NO. Give it to us without any stupid tax. Theyā€™ve taken away enough.

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve used MC since bwl.

Meh. If itā€™s sooooooo good in pvp that we canā€™t have nice things, make it a pvp talent or throw a CD on it.

This has to be bait.

Edit, itā€™s not.

Itā€™s not.

Iā€™m tired of trash excuses about things, spitballing ideas, and detest pvp.

Right,

I hope that youā€™re never in a position of power when it comes to making decisions that impact more than just your own personal opinions.

Too bad, I am.

I donā€™t feel like Holy needs an interrupt in M+ after playing it the last couple of weeks. The majority of casters can be interrupted by Psychic Scream and Chastise w/ the only exception being the Elites/Bosses (which are the minority in the dungeons).

I sit in melee range w/ the 30s Psychic Scream talent (also playing Archon for the double Psychic Scream) and I can interrupt all the mobs back-to-back twice. With Censure and Chastise I can stun the casters and also annoying mobs like the Ogreā€™s in Grim Batol that smack the tank around.

Disc 100% does need something though.

If anything I feel Holy priest needs a brez more than an interrupt, not only because of the lack of utility, but also fits the thematic of the spec.
A poison dispel would be good too which makes sense since paladins also got it.

Iā€™ll still ask for Restitution being accesible in our talent tree as a way to add a new brez paired with afterlife to the game without being exactly the same playstyle as Rebirth or any other brez in the game. Also being able to auto self rez in combat is very holy priesty.

At this point I would even rework Afterlife to be a Brez spell that you can talent or not.

The interrupt would be nice tho, but lower priority against the other 2 options

You can buy b-res jumper cables off the auction house for 500g (might be cheaper now). Unlike other expansions you donā€™t even need to be an engineer to use them and I havenā€™t seen them fail once in 20+ uses. With this expansion theyā€™ve trivialized the b-res situation, but still havenā€™t made drums as good as a real hero class.

People are just stacking Frost DKs and Ret Palys because they do insane damage. Bear tanks are also one of the beefier ones if played by a good person.

Still, the brez is easier to cast it, and would change people perception when they need to build a comp and look for a brez.

They added one for Paladins for a reason eventhough you now can buy the brez.

Btw I aim for restitution being accesible more than just a brez. Iā€™d rather have that.

Funny thing, mistweavers are getting talents merged into baseline abilities like Ancient teachings.
We should absolutely need something like that for talents like Divine Image or Restitution.

The standard Silence spell has currently in the game, which i will type below for those to recall:

Silence
45 seconds, 40 yard range
Instant
Silence target, prevent spellcasting for 4 secs. Against NPCs also interrupts spellcasting nad prevents any spoell in that school from being cast for 4 secs.

With that provided, hereā€™s what iā€™d suggest:

  • Silence is now a baseline spell for all priests, no talent needed.

  • Remove the old 'Silence" talent from the Shadow spec tree and replace it with ā€œSmothering Shadowā€ (see below)

  • Remove the Psychic Voice Talent from general Priest tree, and across the board make Psychic Scream reduced by 15 seconds; thus rendering the Psyhic Voice talent moot since its now baked into priest baselineā€¦

  • Remove the ā€œLast wordā€ talent from the shadow spec tree (its been moved over to baseline) and replace it in the spot where Psychic Voice was. The old Last word spot in shadow tree where Last word was is replaced with Scolding Hush (new talent see below)

Smothering Shadow (New Talent) - replacing the spot in shadow tree where Silence originally was.
When you cast Silence on an enemy, dark magic clings around their body and throat, numbing their body and strangling their voice, this lasts for 10 seconds. Slows their attack and casting speed by 10%, and whenever they cast a spell, they suffer (10% of spell power) shadow damage.
(This is a variation of the Numbing Poison talent for assassination rogues, except i tacked on a DoT effect that punishes the afflicted when they attempt to cast. Why? bcause unlike rogues who can consitently apply a poison with every hit, this talent only applies it when you silence an enemy, meaning it will happen less frequently. The damage formula is taken from an original mind-numbing PvP talent from Legion that rogues had.)

Scolding Hush (New Talent) - Replacing the spot in shadow tree where Last Word originally was.
Successfully interrupting an enemy with Silence grants 10 insanity and reduces its cooldown by 5 seconds. (This is a variation of the Death Knight coldthirst talent, except accomodated for the fact our interrupt has a significantly longer cooldownā€¦ in the current dungeon scheme, interrupts are constantly needed on a quick uptime and having high CD interrupts is painful. Many other classes (DK for example) have Interrupts that are 15 seconds or less on cooldown. Many of these classes also have other ways of interrupting (stuns, knockbacks, etc)ā€¦

And lo the old gods have heard our prayers

Soon we shall be in the promised land of eternal silence

and there will be bacon

Would it be any worse than skullbash and cyclone?

Personally, I think Cyclone is too powerful.

So I would rather the nerf to Cyclone as that is consistently an outlier in being so strong on its own compared to other CC and even more so with the amount of CC druids can do on top of Cyclone.

Cyclone should really have a cooldown to some degree so it canā€™t be spammed. To how long the cooldown should be Iā€™m not sure but somewhere between 10-30 seconds maybe?

I donā€™t agree with this, every healer has an interrupt, itā€™s awful we donā€™t. And when you go to melee to fear, you are able to get hit by a frontal or melee-tank mechanic, thats bad. We need a proper interrupt. When we ā€œfearā€ mobs, we can screw dmg from our allies, like surv hunter that needs mobs stacked to do dmg or a destro warlock with rain. Itā€™s nice that you can use your spells but itā€™s not cool that you have to use skills that have another purpose to interrupt, to avoid casts, when EVERY OTHER HEALER HAS AN INTERRUPT

Iā€™m farming 9-10s on my Paladin tank and out of 5 dungeons the Resto Shamans have only used Wind Sheer a total of 3 times.

This to me just goes to show how far the gap is. If Shammy doesnā€™t even need to make full use of its kit while priest has to min-max everything to compete.

Player skill matters a lot. The average healer I play with only does 50-100k dps, doesnā€™t use interrupts, but can still heal through everything. You donā€™t need to be a top level player to time 7-9s.

Itā€™s literally just the top 10% who I see blasting out dmg, interrupts, etc.
