They could have kept the full quest item drop as a rare “surprise!” moment while also adding guaranteed drops that eventually let you create the quest item.

Cracked Titan Gem Fragment - Combine with 23 other fragments to create a Cracked Titan Gem.

Drop them based on difficulty, with results being additive over the course of the week starting with a max 4 on Mythic to a min 1 on LFR. 6 Mythic Sark kills required to guarantee, or 8 Heroic, 12 normal, 24 LFR. (Yeah I realize this would seem “unfair” to LFR-only raiders but there is no way to make everyone happy and it gives incentive to maybe find friends to do normal and speed it up.)

17 tries or so for my alts in Liquid to get it. Not real Liquid of course. 1/70 total I think.

The RNG reward of the legendary makes it feel that much better when you finally get it.

Felt a sense of relief more so than being rewarded. Level 20 alts for it, and kept the totally not RMT services afloat. People who just happen to have friends on multiple realms, and will carry you for gold.

Also I did the work. They suggested I kill heroic sark because I had a better chance.

I did exactly what they said. And boom, I have a leggo.

I’ve seen a lot of people claim this. It’s mindboggling to see, especially when considering how the community hated RNG everywhere else.

MOP /WOD were blights on alts and anyone returning to the game. You knew they were going to do so much less because of lack of legendary.
