Almost everything has been a screw up.
But you want this to be perfectly reasonable.
Doesn’t sound a bit extreme for you?
Having a Vulpera death knight is acceptable to you?
Or Primus could teach the plans for a death knight blacksmith, or we could make the memory of the runecarver do it.

Hahahaha! Here is the video I was looking for lol.
I mean all of this lore justification when we can just yoink it from one of the apparently numerous scourge wins timelines because wow lore is a meme in the face of parallel universes and the very existance of the bronze and infinite dragonflights. Also yes the most iconic weapon of wc3 should in fact be in the game in its recognizable form. Or to make the player character a bit more innocent maybe have another evil bronze of infinite dragon give a different frostmourne to iridikron or something, pretty sure hes already got a parallel void dragon soul so why not?
You could even make an epic story of it by finding out what happens when you shank the knaifu with it next expac.
Also lich king ensamble when?

Why can’t it just be “give 400 trader tenders for transmog” or ya know, giving it to players to celebrate the big two zero in the fall?
Bolvar raised a new generation of death knights cause Azeroth needed more death knights. Not a great explanation but its something and can actually make some sense. What doesn’t make any sense is why Primus would agree to making a new frostmourn. Why would he teach someone to make it? Why does it need to be so convuluted? Especially in an mmorpg that its typically frowned upon players being special snowflakes. Why would godlike beings start mass producing these replicas? I could be wrong but I thought all these super special weapons were drained? So why do we need to make a new special weapon?

Well Bolvar can’t raise other death knights now and Azeroth will need more Death knights going forward, we convince the Primus it will be used for the good and he recraft Frostmourne to allow us to raise new death knights, and he hands it to the Deathlord (death knight player).

Nah, it’s not because the weapon you’d be getting wouldn’t be frostmourne any more then a scanned image of the mona lisa would be the real thing.
Like… if the original sword wasn’t cleaved in two, if the blade hadn’t been reforged, if it had been a boss drop at the end of wrath maybe you’d have an argument, but for what OP is arguing for? A dollar store knock off?
Nah. let whoever wants it have it.
Exactly, that’s what tenders should be used for. No need to extrapolate where it comes from, no need to roll in the spaghetti lore that things are. Then best of all just let the player head canon where it comes from. I’m mostly saying if they want a questline to get an item then the questline should make some sense.
Then put it on the trading post, but only useable by death knights.

this is the ol ship of Thesius paradox.

I don’t recall frostmourne being a requirement for raising death knights. In fact i went digging for that after reading another thread concerning the creation of death knights. I would in fact appreciate if you could point me to something that makes death knights something that seperates them from being just a undead with a sword. All I’ve found is the that what makes a death knight being undead and being able to carve runes on their sword.

I look forward to headcannoning that the lich king just had a crap poker face.
Or just make it available to anyone since frostmourn stopped being a thing nearly 15 years ago when the raid launched and players started tearing through ICC.
yup. Like if henceforth had just started a thread where he was asking for the Mog to be released in all it’s v.3.0.1 glory for use by players there wouldn’t be any descenting oppinions; it’s this combination of contrived excuses for why we should get another one combined with this idea that other classes shouldn’t get access to it because somehow his contrived excuses for it’s existance go out the window.
Like, it’s the ship of Thesius in a state of quantum flux.
You won’t because it’s not really a thing; Like the sword was a powerful necrotic focus to be sure but nothing about it suggests that it was key to their creation.
I’m fine with the trading post, I’d prefer making it universal to all as a special 20th anniversary item. Since blizzard has been against giving it to players the best chance to get it is for an anniversary type event.
If anyone is wanting a read on Frostmourne.

Like Roadkill said, making it freely available would be a huge show of respect to players who have been around and shown their support to the game even as it’s aged and the MMORPG market has shrunk.

They have class restrictions on gear from trading post already. Why ruin class fantasy?

Not being a requirement but having the power to do so, as Arthas raised all of his man that he killed himself: Falric, Marwyn, Thassarian, etc.
Like I said, you asked for reasons etc, I just gave you one, like it or not.
Thats fair and I can accept that reasoning if they were to make it something that is needed. Though I still am curious as to why it needs to be some special weapon? Especially when it adds a massive risk to being botched by the writers. It seems that people aren’t too happy about what happened to Arthas in shadowlands, theres probably countless ways they could screw up frostmourn as well.
Let’s say:
It doesn’t need to. Like they didn’t have to kill Tirion to give the Ashbringer to paladins but they killed.
It is an option to explain why we are being given the Frostmourne appearance.
