Give Blood Elves tattoo options!

She was designed to look like her old WC2 model.

They’ve never been depicted with tattoos since WC2 when they where based off of Tribal Celtic groups but are not anymore.

They never “Stopped” because it never happened anymore.

She was based off herself lol She existed as a WC2 character.

And they don’t have tattoos so how could she be based off a group that doesn’t have any? lol

And there’s no such thing as “Farstrider Tattoos” so no it doesn’t.

She’s literally the Void Elf racial leader. Her specific features should go to them.

And other classes can absolutely use runic tattoos. Why would they be a Mage only thing?

Can you even show me a single Blood Elf NPC that looks like her? And there are still High Elves that share that exact same past as her that live with the Alliance, meaning that with your logic, this is even more of an Alliance theme than what it would be for the Horde?

As of right now, this is exclusively an Alliance theme. It wouldn’t exactly be fair to give the Horde an option to look like her when not even Alliance players can?

For sure! The new Night Elf options are what got me making this thread in the first place. I want Blood Elves to have customization just as good as what the Night Elves are getting. I love all the Elves and want to them get the same treatment. <3

Same here! It’s honestly the thing i’m most excited for in Shadowlands. I could care less about Torghast lol.

Honestly so jealous of their customizations. Since leaves wouldn’t make that much sense for us, I hoping for maybe hair pins or ribbons.

Where does it say that? Because the only thing I see is that she was a Farstrider, and thus represents how Farstriders look. This is mere conjecture and not backed up by anything but headcanon.

This is not evidence that they no longer exist, especially since those same Farstriders would still be alive today. There’s absolutely nothing that confirms your theory besides more conjecture, not that I’m surprised from someone who also told me that blue eyes for blood elves was my “fanfiction”

Because they were designed in an old, limited WoW engine? We can see the difference between old NPC models and practically any modern NPC. The difference between Lor’themar, and Valeera’s old models is night, and day. Alleria is just the most recent Farstrider model. And flavor text they explicitly put in her bow description is evidence of that.

Yes it does since we’ve seen rangers with tattoos before, so it makes sense that those same rangers could have tattoos today. Saying that it was retconned with no proof isn’t really compelling to anyone.

Not when the elves she recruited have adopted an entirely different culture, and theme from hers. You can see this in their heritage set, or on literally any Void elf. Not only are the void elves blood elf magisters who meddled with the void and have no business with Farstrider tattoos, it makes even less sense to say they have any ownership over a Blood elf theme.

The fact that Alleria resembles the blood elves, and their themes far better than any Alliance high elf speaks volumes. People have been asking for Farstrider themes for years, that isn’t an Alliance theme because one of them popped up from a time portal after a thousand years. As if every Void, and High elf is running down the street for their “Farstrider” and Ranger themed tattoos.

Actual leaves might not make much sense, but some leaf themed jewelry could work.

Sylvanas’s Ranger General skin in HotS has a cute leaf earring on one her ears, which i think would make a neat option.

New earring options in general would be cool. They might not be on the top of my most wanted list, but i wouldn’t mind some new ones. Also, the men need earrings too!

I personally would not get tattoos on my characters, but I support this. I don’t think it would take too much money/time to do (they did it with Demon Hunters) and it sounds cool!

Yes, the Farstrider NPCs are seen wearing green, and gold accented armor themselves, although their models are very simplistic, and dated since they were designed in a very limited engine.

You can even see the similarities between Lor’themar’s armor, and Alleria’s more than any other elf in the game, clearly a theme inherited from her past as a Farstrider elf within Silvermoon. It was the entire point of her appearance, to say that it now belongs to the High elves is just absurd.

Name one?
And no, no Farstriders ever joined the Alliance, so no “Alliance” High elf shares the same history as her whereas many Farstrider Blood elves fought alongside her in the wars. Heck, when you wield her bow in Azsuna only Blood elves respond to it’s appearance, stating that they fought alongside her in the 3rd war.

But it really isn’t, since it was clearly stated that she is meant to look like a Farstrider. And Farstriders are a Blood elf group.

True! But I’m hoping we get more visible options. Like would we even be able to see the jewelry they gave us? Shadowlands better give us some good mogs to show them off.

Because she literally looks like her WC2 model.

They never had them in the first place. That’s how retcons work.

They aren’t Celtic Tribal Elves who live in longhouses.

It was. They even told you it made no sense. lol

They diced to say heck with lore and give them to you anyway so who cares.

What does that have to do with this conversation other than your sodium levels?

They could make tattoos before. This is a stretch.

And Alleria being a Farstrider has nothing to do with Tattoos.

And they where retconned from being a Tribal Celtic group to a more magical Arabic based group.

They never had them in the first place. That’s why they don’t have them now.

It can’t be a Blood Elf them if literally none of them have it.

I get wanting to have tattoos but it’s ridiculous to try and steal a theme from the Void Elf racial Leader and pretend it’s a Blood Elf thing.

Go ahead and keep arguing for “Farstrider Tattoos” if you want. They don’t exist so don’t expect any results.

It would be far better to spend your time asking for themes the Blood Elves already have like Rommath’s Runic Arm Sleeves or the TBC Box Art Runes instead.

Same here.

Apparently they actually removed the body jewelry options in a later Alpha build, so we might not be getting those after all. Which i’m personally fine with since i didn’t plan on using it anyway. I hope we get some better customization options in its place.

Oh? So we only have the eyes and few hair options confirmed?

Those, the new skin tones, ear sizes, and dude beards.

Lor’themar’s armor and Alleria’s armor look nothing alike. And even though they don’t look the same, I won’t deny the fact that she obviously inherited her style from her past? But some of the Farstriders stayed with the Alliance just like Alleria did, and the theme was expanded upon with Alliance characters(like Alleria).

Taela Everstride.

If :

is the reasoning you used to come to your conclusion about those Blood Elves looking similar to Alleria, then there’s no reason Taela doesn’t count.

They’re a group of Blood Elves, but Blizzard has never said they have to look like Alleria or even anything like her? As of right now, there are absolutely no other npcs that look like Alleria, which kind of makes her aesthetic–as of right now–an Alliance theme.

Can’t wait to see what else we get. My main hopes are for tattoos and scars/burns. We should be able to “ugly” up our characters. We fight monsters and gods no way we wouldn’t get hurt.

My main hopes are for Dark Ranger customization. I know it’s unlikely, but id be so happy if it were to happen. Id change my Blood Elf Hunter into a Dark Ranger for sure!

Which is even referenced and recognized by Blood elf NPCs when you encounter them while weilding her bow.

When walking past certain Blood elves with the Thas’dorah, they say “Wait a moment, champion. Is that the ancient bow of the Windrunners? My father fought alongside Alleria in the Second War. I never thought we’d see that weapon again…”

Which not only references the Rangers from WC2, but is a clear reference to their presence in the game. Care to show me a single High elf who might do the same? Clearly her story, and appearance was designed to represent a up-to-date version of a Farstrider meant to hearken to the Blood elves, since they’re the only ones who even acknowledge it.

Except a Retcon is something that explicitely denies the possibility of a concept, or idea, whereas nothing you’ve provided does. It’s just a theory, and not a very compelling one at that.

Just like you still don’t have High elves, right? So… it makes no sense for you to get those themes either since you’re playing former BLOOD ELF mages on the alliance, meaning it makes even less sense for you to have them.

You were also cruising the forums saying the same thing to people about Gold eyes, and then wala, they were added. It just goes to show that you tend to be hypocritical, and bias about anything that suit your agenda.

No, they clearly couldn’t since no player-race in the game had tattoos until recently. Heck, Lor’themar himself didn’t get a model update until BFA, and his entire appearance looks completely different than he did before. Should Halduron, or any of the Farstriders receive an update the same could be said for them.

And yes it does, since it was exclusive to rangers, and we clearly learned that she was a Farstrider. Not only that but her appearance is staggeringly reminscent to Farstrider attire, just look at Sylvanas in her Warbringers cinematic.

There is no “Celtic” or “Arabic” themes in Warcraft, they are all contributed to the elves. So in Warcraft they all fall under Elvish themes.

The fact that she was the Farstrider general, and we saw rangers with tattoos tells us they did, in fact have tattoos and that it wasn’t solely her. This is just you peddling your own fanfiction because the truth hurts your agenda.

And I guess it cant be a Void elf theme because literally none of them have it either, y’know since they’re all previously Blood elf Magisters, heck even the scholars are seen wearing mage robes. If you honestly expect any of us to believe that the Void elves started suddenly giving themselves tattos at the moment of Alleria’s arrival, please excuse me while I chuckle.

Right just like I shouldn’t expect Blue eyes. Oh wait. Or gold eyes, OH WAIT.
The irony in this is that you’re asking for visuals so contrary and contradicting to the Void elf while telling Blood elf players that ranger tattoos on their Farstriders make no sense is actually laughable.

At least that’s more likely than my other option. I really want this lock to be a felblood elf. Before people say they are all evil and dead, a lot of them rejoined Silvermoon and defend it with the Farstriders.

I didn’t know that.

I think Felblood Elves would be a cool option as well. They’d definitely need a model update though. They currently use the old Belf model.

Yes they do, not only are they both adorned with multiple winged appendages, they are also accented with the same blue gems. They are both heavily inspired, and influenced by elven armor, which is more than can be said for any High elf in the game. Heck even Sylvanas’ Farstrider attire from Heroes of the Storm looks IDENTICAL to it.

Uh she’s wearing all human mail armor, this is not High elven in theme at all, but evidence that the High elves have acclimated into the human’s culture.

Except Taela is wearing a human, mail armor set that is not elven in theme, or tradition at all where as the Farstriders armor is clearly inspired, and designed to reflect their elvish background.

I mean, that was the whole point? They deliberately told the players she is a Farstrider, made her look like a Farstrider, and threw her into the game, and now you think it’s an Alliance theme? Look at Sylvanas in her Warbringers cinematic, or in Heroes of the Storm, they both draw heavily from the same source; the farstriders.

There doesn’t need to be when they’ve made it clear that she’s supposed to look like a member of a Blood elf group.
