Give All High Elves Golden Eyes

kinda sad, actually, as its just an aesthetics request, but because lore is directly attached to thalassian eyecolor, exclusively, where it isnt to literally any other races that i can tell, thalassian elves have to have alot fewer customizations for eye color.

like i have one eye color. and it isnt likely going to be more than that any time soon.

Wait are people still asking for Blue Eye’d Blood Elves at this point? lol

not sure for orcs but in the case of elves, isnt the light magic of the sunwell, fixing that?

are you asking me that question

There are a bunch of people on the Horde who have been requesting blue eyes not because they really want it but because they want to provoke and insult people on the Alliance who have wanted high elves for past 15 years. So in theory if blue eyes were given to blood elves, they would smear it on the face of the people on the Alliance. Kinda like “ahaahaha look, we got blue eyes and you still haven’t got high elves in 15 years lol” I’m glad Ion made this decision.

Night elves have a big thing with eye colour too.

Silver is normal.
Gold means great druid potential (yes druidic, not magical which is why it is way more common in their society nowadays)
And black means they are spooky night warriors.

However that all applies to their current society anyway.

However, that is also why it is unlikely they get any new eye colours either.

Draenei most likely won’t get any eye colours as well.

i dont see why not?? for goodness sakes. this is silly.

Is not a Theory, it was 100% proven the last few weeks with many threads of horde players mocking the alliance now that their elves had blue eyes.

Because draenei don’t have the same type of eyes as other races and the only variation we’ve ever seen/heard of was the eredar with fel green. But it is entirely possible I’m wrong here and they do give us some. After all, the original WoD model (which was later fixed) had blue eyes.

Yup, i’m glad Ion shut them up lol. They really thought those datamined blue eyes was for them, that was the funniest part.

Oh that’s hilarious then that Ion just straight up said “no”

The irony

There are a lot of colors, appearances given to beings in wow that don’t seem to have been given the same critiquing that many players imagine. Through out the game characters are just given skin, eye colors without much serious thoughts about it or consequences for having to stick to a defined unchangeable lore.

Must be proud of yourself and how rude you can be.
I don’t feel like anyone has ‘shut’ me up.

Poetic justice? For the past couple of weeks since the datamine leak, there were countless threads by Horde Blood Elf players bashing Alliance High Elf fans with the whole, “ahahahah we are getting blue eyes and you can now remain salty forever” insults.

That was just rude of them. If you have a problem with it then why would you be the same?
You can’t criticize others if you’re going to do the same thing.

Well, some High Elves are Blood Elves. Some are even Void Elves.

But yes, in general, if you’re a Blood Elf, you’re 100% a High Elf. If you’re a High Elf you are not necessarily a Blood Elf.

I’m fairly certain every race/allied race is getting different eye color options than the default. They might end up just being different shades of the default color, but no race will be without options.

Allied races aren’t getting customization. And I wouldn’t be so sure on all races getting all options. Humans don’t have things like horns or tails for example so they need things like eye colour to have more options, that might not apply to every race though.

ALL races are getting new eyes. It’s a fundamental change to the character creator and player models. The eyes aren’t the same as customization options such as skin, hair, jewelry, etc. ALL of the player character models are being changed to accommodate the new eye system.

You’ll also note that, in Shadowlands, Humans have new jewelry options… necklaces to go with the earrings they currently have.

He meant blue eyes make no sense ON blood elves and he’s 100% right. High Elves who are npcs in the game should keep their blue eyes, it has nothing to do with them.

Yes sure, but just because something in a model can be changed doesn’t mean Blizz would give us new options. Underwear for example can be changed but Blizz is not going to give races that. It is too early to tell all races are getting all customizations.
