It’s not just the forums. There are other places where people discuss BfA and the negatives, but even here on the forums and those other places there are people who talk about the positives as well, just maybe not as much.
Soo the 45 likes ythisens got announcing wow as fan favorite game vs the over 300 the guy saying it doesn’t deserve it is just the same 20 people? Also keep in mind only people with subs can post on forums…so all the people who unsubbed cause it sucks aren’t even here.
Edit current count is 46 in favor and 321 against.
In all honesty, the recent ‘pruning’ that has occurred the past couple expansions just has not been very fun, for the most part… I liked MoP a good deal better but that’s just me. I’m glad to hear that some people out there are enjoying this expansion but I hope the next one does not continue the ‘prune’ trend. I would like to see an expansion where people don’t lose anything and get new abilities and talents on top of it.
You would like to think it is so, but it is not.
Guess all the reviews besides Youtubers are all wrong to?
Do not think so. This expansion is in horrible shape.
Period!
Not to throw a monkey wrench in your argument since I agree with you, but we discussed some of this new stuff regarding the forums today and while yes I think they have put the lid back on so only subbed people can post, technically I can like something 50 times on one account if I want and I have that many toons. People have tested it a little.
Now… I’m not saying those 321 likes were from many people and their alts, but right now I feel like it is best to keep things in perspective.
He was the lead systems developer for world of warcraft before WoD… He was the guy who communicated with us the most… Not his boss Tom Chilton or any of the others… He also took the vitriol from the community. I miss him terribly.
And people could like it on all their toons as well…it’s a two way street. me? I have like 20 alts but I’m not taking the time to dislike it that many times. I gave it my one dislike.
Reddit used to be like 95% positive posts with a few suggestions every now and then towards blizzard. Now it’s almost all negativity because of how bad BFA has been.
He was a bad lead dev too. His arrogance cost him his job at blizz not the players that left his game. Ion is the same way.
What dislike where? You can’t dislike on the forums. I feel that I have really lost a step somewhere here in communication.
There’s a post about wow being up for vote as fan favorite MMORPG. The post by ysithens the CM talking about it has 46 likes. Then a guy posted about how WoW doesn’t deserve it and he sincerely hopes it doesn’t win, has 321 likes.
Irrespective of this incident, since I had not yet joined wow at the time…
I need to point out that is is a gross misrepresentation for you to attempt to generalize as you do by claiming that “everyone I disagree with can be considered ‘the vocal minority’, and I and everyone else agree with what I say and are the ‘silent majority’”.
The actual truth is that disregarding obvious trolls and those with clear agendas, the only difference between people who visit forums and those who do not is that people who visit forums like to discuss things with random strangers on the internet.
It is generous of me to state that it is a “misrepresentation” for you to claim that people who do not visit forums do not visit them because they are happy with [whatever you say they are].
In all likelihood forum consensus of regulars (again, disregarding obvious trolls) closely represents the overall playerbase.
And you are a poster with a known reputation in the forums.
Sounds nice having one of the devs actually talk to the playerbase. Was he the last one to do so? Doesn’t seem like we have one of those for BFA.
Ok yeah I get what you’re saying now, and yes those likes are probably pretty accurate, but I dunno for sure. Like I said I just don’t really trust the likes right now because of some hinky issues with the forums.
sure forums are always wrong.
-website is smooth and amazing, raid progression tab is flawless.
-azerite gear is such a revolutionary system putting artefacts to shame.
-There’s always plenty of things to do , so much so that it feels like tuesdays come too fast!
-subs are higher than they ever been
-rng in my rng is so great i barely can contain myself.
-world quests are exciting and motivate me to keep saving the world.
-warmode is so thrilling, tight balanced battles
-i barely can contain my joy knowing that mobile projects are slowing things down.
-i’m so excited for december 11th.
-the new raid is so entertaining/captivating. Even if the rewards weren’t so freaking great i would go there for pure amusement.
-i love how weekly affixes are fun and diversified, never get 3+ terrible weeks in a row, ever.
-i’m so impressed by the communication and care for the playerbase; you can’t hear it, but i’m clapping.
keep it up! yall are the best! don’t change a thing! it’s perfect!
*just wanted to add that it’s such a joy hunting for high ilvl weapons with fitting stats ; simply great.
i don’t think i need a /s for this one do i?
It’s not that BfA is a bad expansion. It’s just not great.
BfA seems like a copy-pasted Legion, but it’s missing the things that made Legion interesting. Not having a story-driven zone with weekly progression severely hurt this expansion’s world content. (Suramar, really helped Legion. It tied so many elements of the game together. Its absence in BfA is very noticeable.)
World Quests suffer from feeling completely arbitrary and pointless. I grinded them out on my main to get Pathfinder done. If I never see another one of these world quests ever again - it will be too soon. The rewards suck. The gameplay sucks. The story sucks. It lacks anything compelling to make a person want to do them. (And now that I have Pathfinder 1 done, I find out it will be months before Part 2 even becomes available. F U Blizzard.)
Island Expeditions. Jesus Christ. Such a missed opportunity. Think of MoP scenarios, but without the gameplay. That’s all these are. Grindy, pointless, azerite farms. I could have come up with a better system in 10 minutes. How about some actual missions? Establishing a beachhead. Fortifying some bunkers. Assassinating key leaders in stealth missions. Anything but run around and murder random trash mobs and pick up junk on the ground. It’s the lowest form of gameplay. Straight out of something like an early 90s RPG - slaying things to level up. 14 years into this game and the devs are regressing in gameplay.
Speaking of gameplay. GCD changes were horrid. More pruning to classes. World scaling that makes upgrades feel weak and worthless. Not that it matters. World mobs fall over, because that’s what they’re supposed to do; so just roll your face on your 3 button rotation and do your quests like a good little boy. It’s garbage. WoW from 2006 had more engaging gameplay.
Despite all of that, it’s still better than WoD, but not by much.
Raid logging is pretty much what my guild does, if people think that means the game is in good spot, good for you if you are having fun and like the new features and classes i’m happy for you , but i like to go off the people i play with and talk too and vast majority are disinterested in current wow.
lol
lololol
lol
I’d be amazed if there were even hundreds having fun playing.
He was the last Dev to talk to us as frequently as he did. He did blog posts or would actually post into conversations periodically.
Well that’s lame a Big step in the right direction would be some of the devs talking to the playerbase that’s probably where alot of the frustration comes from.
