Yeah, 'Murica… I think that about sums up the topic.
Every time I’ve had to unsub I had to go through a questionnaire - is that not a thing anymore?
Nope. No survey.
Nope. They quietly removed it at some point.
Yeah, god knows what his exit contract looked like or the possible penalties if he were to speak against his former employer. Activision can afford the lawyers necessary to be very vindictive.
You were saying that no one has any idea why he left. I was simply pointing out that he himself stated the reason for leaving and then moved on to work on one of the only pc games out there bigger than WoW.
There are PR reasons and then there are actual reasons. I saw PR reasons frequently when I played Rift for a bit before and after the collapse. Lineage 2 as well.
The amount of melodramatic entitled people in this thread is reaching new bounds. Would you like the CM’s to give you their personal phone number so you can make demands after work hours? QUIT! We get it! You hate BfA, show blizz and unsub for the duration of BfA and come back if the game suits you down the road. Let your sub run out tough guy, we don’t need emotional wrecks that freak out over a logical responses in the player base. According to most of you the game is dying anyway, why not jump ship now and avoid that cold cold water? Maybe because despite its issues, BfA is still WoW, and still fun? LIKE EVERY VERSION OF THE GAME SINCE LAUNCH. Waaah, wah, waah all day with you people.
Makes a post about melodrama. Entirely consisting of melodrama.
What are your thoughts then to the endless comments and threads about specific classes? Often time we see you all address large scale issues like Azerite gear, Island Expeditions, etc. Rarely, if ever, do we get any kind of spec or class specific questions answered.
For example, we were told Warlocks would be looked at and that changes were coming to our class for PVP purposes. Then nothing for a long while. During a Q&A it was then stated that Warlocks weren’t going to be getting these hotfixes. If Season 1 was going to be remembered as a bursty season then that was okay.
But Warlocks are still poorly represented. We have changes coming defensively for 8.1 that will address the poor survivability issues, but Destruction and Affliction still remain riddled with poor class design when it comes to actually playing the two specs. Affliction is only viable due to the trait Inevitable Demise (which is being nerfed significantly), and Destruction is only viable with the talent Grimoire of Supremacy. We’ve CONSTANTLY harped on this issue on the Arena forums and on the Warlock forums and nothing has been stated about rerouting some of our damage.
You say that nothing happens overnight, but it’s been months now without any communication. Specs like Shadow Priest are having massive overhauls and yet Warlocks have seen nothing of the sort.
So what are you doing to improve communication? What metrics are you using to measure the communication has improved? Does the team ever plan to implement a line of communication for more specific concerns like classes and specs?
Its ironic you claim.to admit you see problem, but in the same breath seny that people are leaving the game in significantly higher number than people having saying it is a good xpac. You can keep going on and on about how other are at fault.or to blame, but in the end blizz is just as guilty if not a small margin more.
I guess I’m part of the club now. What is the group deciding we should cry about tomorrow? I missed some meetings.
I think the Venruki gear thread is good one to judge the state of PvP gearing yet we never get a blue response. It’s not about the state of the game but a big part of it for the pvp community. The same applies with Fox’s PvP gearing thread. Why don’t we get any blue responses about it? Players haven’t been happy with PvP gearing since Legion yet Blizzard are adding vendors for Mythic. What more does it take to give pvp players vendors like in past expansions? Is it acceptable for Blizzard to say we will test gear vendors for pve first before pvp? So does this mean we’ll never get any form of discussion from Blizzard about pvp vendors in the arena forums because that one statement?
Yeah, and if he did not immediately move onto “the opportunity that came his way” I.E League of Legends, then I might agree with you. In this case though it’s pretty cut and dry…
No one is hating on the 90%. Both groups are getting what they want. People are getting their Classic and you can still play on retail and enjoy seeing new content, while people who want to push themselves can see the content and get the best gear and only them if they truly want.
Like I said it’s not my fault 90% of players can’t play because of time restraints or some other factor. Not everyone gets enjoyment by spinning a wheel and hoping to hit it big.
Unless it was a case of ‘Jump ship before it pulls you under’. But only he knows the answer to that. Almost all (maybe all)of the well known old-guard Blizz devs have jumped ship(or were forced out) for whatever reason.
Sure that could be a possibility. He did leave at a time when WoW was considered to be in a good state though - MoP. For that reason + his moving on to what could be considered a potentially better job, I find it a lot less likely that he was jumping ship or forced out, than with some other blizz employees who have left.
Diablo mastermind David Brevik harshly criticized Blizz in a live stream about PoE. How it is simply an Activision shell now masquerading as what it once was back in it’s day. Basically the Blizz devs of today are standing on the shoulders of giants and that Activision is milking the brand for everything it is worth.

THAT was not melodramatic?
WOW!
I have to admit that this is my own issue with those who claim that those who are unhappy with the game are a “vocal minority,” while those who are happy are all busy playing.
All points of view expressed on the forums represent vocal minorities. The reality, is that none of us know what the majority of players actually feel about the game, but the chances are that those who are posting on the forums do in fact, form a statistical representation of the player base as a whole. This is, after all, why properly conducted polls are regarded as reliable.
I’m sorry. I guess I’m just scared… I see all the hate and negativity and I get worried I’m going to lose a game I’ve played for 14 year now. I guess I got scared, and then mad, and then over reacted. I still think my post has a solid solution if you can see passed the hypocrisy.
