Ghostcrawler Says Forum Critics are Wrong

Oh and on a side note

Please give Horde a portal to the docks from the ziggurat.

PLEASE.

Really, the only rational answer is a financial one. Maintain sub retention then have a burst of interest when the till runs low.

sighs in frustration

It would help to know at least why they are doing this. Ion said they had learned from Legion and here we are waiting longer this time around.

Whats the reasoning? Its a valid question.

Zuldezar. UGH.

You probably won’t actually get an answer. It’s clear they dislike flying.

I am just wondering where did you hear that we would be waiting until August for patch 8.2 and flying? Seems like quite a long time.

There is your problem right there. Ian is basically a Todd Howard corporate clone. Watch any of the old blizzcon reveals and tell me how many features promised/announced were actually in the game as fully thought out ideas and not just promising roses when all you are getting is a fuzzy image of a rose. You can even see it in his face sometimes that he doesn’t believe the BS that he promises.

Shadow: would you laugh if I said I dont share that cynicism and am trying to see the good in all of this? :pensive:

8.1 is a gated patch and Blizzard has, of course, not said when we get 8.2…or whats in it…or what we will need to do…or what content we will need to do…or if it will be timegated…or what reps we will need to grind…and when we actually get flight.

Looking at where we are now and looking at the other patches… Legion flight was what…seven months in?

Can YOU see us flying in March next year? I dont.

My money says July or August 2019

Not really, the cynicism comes with experience in these situations. First step is disbelief, then confusion, then eventually you settle into cynicism as the only healthy response when dealing with ‘business over ethics’ I.E. capitalism.

Well looking simply at the raid release compared to nighthold in legion, it is 1 week later, so I could see flying be a little later than legion by a few weeks, but a year seems very unlikely to me. It sounds like this is just speculation then, unless you had a source.

Well, I’m sure Ghostcrawler would say just that. As a Blizzard employee, you didn’t expect him to say the game’s critics have a point, did you? The longer que times, the 3.1 Metacritic user score and the way people seem to almost always say terrible things about the game, all seems to indicate otherwise though.

He actually is not a blizzard employee any more I believe.

Source no, but look at the timing.

Then again, that question could be solved if we had some kind of timeline as to when we can expect flight to be unlocked. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

No one knows if he was forced out or left for better pay or more creative opportunity. He has been very mum on that topic almost to the point it seems like he is contractually obligated not to disparage Blizz. But then again if you talk bad about a big name former employer like Activision your name basically becomes blackballed in the game dev industry due to being a possible corporate/PR liability.

Or he simply doesnt want to go into it for his own reasons. I will also add that its considered very poor form to trash a previous employer publically, regardless of industry.

This is the kind of thinking that allows businesses to trample over the rights/dignity/working conditions of workers without consequence.

I mean he pretty much stated that he was leaving blizzard because he had gotten a nice job offer, and right after leaving he started working for League of Legends. Seems like a relatively straightforward reason for leaving to me.

Edit: Here is the statement he made while leaving blizzard that I was referring to: “An opportunity has come my way, and I have made the very tough decision to move on from Blizzard.” Then he started at LoL, where he has worked ever since.

Rubbish.

If I had an issue with my rights as a staffer there are agencies and authorities I can go to that could and often do resolve these issues effectively.

If, for example, i want being paid properly, there are ways to address that without publically discussing it…and trust me, they get results.

Not to be patronizing but look at EA or Disney in how they are basically wage-slave sweatshops where naive dreams get crushed.

Then maybe you need to look at how we Aussies do it.

A while back a chain of stores ripped off their staff…their staff didnt have to do a thing…as soon as the investigation was over, the media were told…and they did the rest.:grin:
