Well… um… I just did. On a level 10 DK. It was in my level range. Had 375 health or so. My level 10 dk had 500. Mobs around there had 100.
He was doing like 15 damage to me, per lightning. So, it might’ve just been that something went wonky with OP’s attempts? idk. All I can say is what I saw and did.
even if it is, it doesn’t belong in either of those forums.

to be fair, you also think someone needs to be on your server to assist you with a quest.
if you aren’t aware that someone on any realm can help, perhaps your understanding of bugs isn’t as thorough as you’d like to believe.
some people have more than one character.

If true, then it is probably some wonky scaling going on. One thing Blizz has been consistent at is failing with the stupid scaling lol. Only time I remember dying while leveling in retail was from fall damage not paying attention and running off a cliff or something. # level squish was a mistake 
everybody loves drama.

im not a liar what would i gain from that? no one was near me for chain lightning to hit me except and level 17 mage that helped me once and it one shot him too.
i tried multiple times solo and one guy.

I don’t know, maybe at higher levels the comma moves to a place it shouldn’t and the Chain Lightning becomes a Nuke.
The only bug I know of is the one in Moonfire.
But it’s not Moonfire by itself. The other NPCs in the area, Manawraith, leave a debuff that increases the magic damage received and done.
And it is that value that is wrong.
If you are not able to remove that debuff then Moonfire hits you like a Nuke.
I don’t know if the debuff value is stacketed or if it has random values.

Been to ghostlands lately? It’s totally dead. Even on a busy realm you will rarely see another player. At that level players are not permitted to use the group finder to start groups.
There are few group quests that cannot be soloed by a player with halfway decent gear.
Need some help? I don’t know if that quest is phased. I can’t look at your armory to see your gear. Quest gear is crap now. Dungeon gear is much better, what’s your ilvl? At level 30 dungeons drop ilvl 89 gear. If yours is far lower that may be your problem.
This mob has actually been soloable since Cata (for me at least and, until today, for the OP as well). Tough, but completely soloable.

Did you try hiding behind pillars vs just the wall? If I remember correctly, he can’t cast through the pillars. If he is hitting you through the pillars, then you should put in a bug report.

I beg to differ. I’ve levelled many Elves through there and that quest was always a problem for me, especially on weaker classes. Group quests are invariably difficult to solo.
