Sure, and I’ve done the litmus test I’ve reported people who swear and who also do the same thing and they don’t get actioned, behavior warnings, or silenced. For instance the night where I got silenced that you looked at, I know the guy I was arguing with, who was advocating for me to get mass report silenced didn’t actually have anything happen to him… He was still there after I got actioned.
I’ve done my homework and have made sure to report these individuals, but once again enforcement isn’t equal or even happens.
If all it takes to get someone silenced is talking in trade, that means we should all report anyone for talking in trade? I’m certain every single person here, including you, has carried on a conversation in trade beyond just trading.
As per the conversation, I was actioned because I was talking in trade, not because I said anything in particular. It’s the wrong channel to have a conversation is what this is coming down to.
So you also admit to breaking the rules and talking in trade.
How do you exactly know this? You don’t see what action Blizzard takes against another player. Blizzard doesn’t provide that information to you either.
It is not against the rules to talk in trade chat.
Your crusade is odd, and just plain wrong. If you are making up things like this and acting like you are being persecuted then I sort of get the reports. Trying to pick fights with people to debate is not just talking.
I have not broken any trade chat rules or any other rules. I know the rules I agreed to and they are very easy to follow.
Ori just said it was and that’s why I got actioned. Read Oris responses. You’re trying to infer I’m a heinous beast that just went on a swearing tyrant or was saying super crass things, that’s not what’s happening here.
In this context, it’s the attempt to try to make yourself the center of attention and draw as much attention to yourself as possible - often dominating a conversation. Whether that is true - or not, that’s the impression I got from the logs, and I strongly suspect that’s the impression your realm mates also have.
Again, that may be what inspired the reports, but that is not what upheld them.
Politics do not belong in trade chat. Courtroom bickering does not belong in trade chat. Talking about trading belongs in trade chat. Simple. To the point. Easy to follow. How this is going over your head is beyond me, or likely anyone else in here.
Ori my server is relatively dead. It’s comprised of 9 other servers, all of which fell apart over the years, and we’re left over with the bottom of the barrel.
If you have the ability to do so, look at how much is discussed in Trade when I wasn’t around during the silence. 75% of the conversations were about me, and 25% were something else. I am very social, that part of why were are here right now, people talk with me all the time as I try to talk to them, to make a social atmosphere. To keep things alive and add camaraderie. Some people hate me because of specifically this.
Tonight, I was pacing myself and giving about equal responses to everyone else, which was talking about pets (birds) and then talking about doing mythics/keys and gearing in them. There isn’t much chat logs to look at there if you want to look at my server, it would take you maybe 5-10m worth of reading.
So to be clear about this, it’s because I was talking in Trade and non-trade conversation is reportable, actionable, and shouldn’t be in Trade?
You certainly seem to be struggling with what Orlyia said. Leave politics out of the game. Stop making yourself the centre of attention and stop misusing trade chat for both those things too.
It’s really not difficult, but we often see people here who try to twist things to make it seem like they didn’t break any rules when, in fact, they did.
Glad to have helped clear that up for you. Enjoy your gaming.
