Really they should merge plate into mail, since plate is just a type of mail armor anyway. They can just give Warriors, Paladins, and Death Knights a passive that increases our armor by a percentage so they don’t have to rebalance anything.
Two of the most requested classes, Dark Rangers and Tinkers, are perfect candidates to wear mail.

TBH, I wouldn’t mind that either. A lot of really great Troll armor gets locked behind Mail, and to be totally fair Hunters have jack to do with Voodoo Masks and Witch Doctor stuff. Nor do I consider Hunters “Shadow Hunters”. At least not until Blizzard creates a spec that serves that purpose.

I don’t see how mail sets look worse than others on average, sure its hit and miss but that’s the case with every armor types there’s some very good Hunter and Shaman looking sets.

I like the vast majority of the sets as well, but to be the devil’s advocate for a moment… how many of these sets are actually mail armour? There’s a lot of cool sets that happen to be mail, but how many of those actually read as mail armour?

I mean the set im currently wearing is as pure ringmail as you can get but i agree some look like plate but… there’s cloth and leather sets who look like plate too.
Sets that look like other armour types are generally the exception to the rule for cloth, leather and plate, though. For mail? You’re wearing one of the very few that actually read as mail. That is to say, mail sets that look like mail are the exception to the rule.
I like my xmog. It’s called “The Silver Queen”. Plus having x2 Skarr pets really brings out the theme 
Imagine artistic designers being pushed over to class design.

Not sure I agree but seeing as all loot is basically personal now, it’s not like we would have to share an armor loot pool with them. Leather is already pretty filled with DH, Druids, Rogues and Monks.

Leather used to be the gear hunters started off with. It’s a shame we don’t have access to it.

Which I found both hilarious and infuriating. Tell me how a DH suits mail LESS than Hunters or Shaman! Oh, well, at least they’re the first leather class that makes sense wearing leather armour. Ninja and assassins wear plain clothes, pirates wear cloth, monks wear gi or robes, which are cloth, and druids wear cloth robes.
Armor classes in WoW never meant what they say. What they meant was Spell Robes, light armour, medium armour, heavy armour.

Need to agree, we’ve had zero new classes for cloth and mail, while we have already a few cloth classes they just need to bring more mail wearing classes.
I was really shocked Shadowlands didn’t bring a new class, I personally think they missed out on this decision.
Everytime a new class releases it brings new and old players to the game, it brings a fresh feel, every class they’ve released always sees a huge spike in players, most stay, some people are still looking for the perfect class to fit their play style and theme.
