On topic, though… I’d rather they give us mail armor that looks like mail armor.
Can you imagine how cool a Dwarf Warrior armored like this would be with a Dane Axe?

This is lampshaded in the coming expansion.
I think mail armor is for the classes that have extra stuff like totems and traps to distract from the mail
I think that’s traditional. Real mail armor didn’t have a crotch, it had a fancy pad that hung over the area. Battle blows often come from the side and they had extra plates that covered the sides of your thighs and knees.
I vote we go back to each class having two armor types like before WoD changed it, at least let mail users mog leather, plate mail, leather cloth, and cloth leather.

I honestly love my mog on my shaman. It’s simple, with lots of Classic influence, and I don’t think leather would look any better.

Mail is forggoten, it dosent have yhe best designs, but that alone is no excuse to improve on them.
The people that says is horrible, say so because they want to see that their favorite tioe of armor and classes be tood.
Also, ad another freaking mail wearer clase fffs, 2 only that is just to little of a pool
My favorite thing is how Blizzard had a chance to be 3/3/3/3 for armor classes by making DH Mail instead we got 3/4/2/3

Appearance is subjective.
Personally I like a lot of the gear we get (Legion has some real home runs when it comes to Hunter tier imo) and I wouldn’t give it up.
Though tbh if mail merged with ether plate or leather I would be 100% ok with that since more options is always better.

They said initially DH’s were gonna be mail but they found it didn’t really suit the “class fantasy” that well so they made them leather.
Hey, if I can be a cow with a gun, I can be stealthy in mail.
Besides, I like my mog.
New chain-wearing class: Bard
Specializations:
Minstrel: uses instruments as weapons. Plays lutes, guitars.
Cantor: uses voice as a weapon I guess.
Spoony (From the classic rpg FFIV): plays harp. Known to be flaky and gets beat up by old father-in-law. Hides during most enemy fights. Key ability is to be able to drop aggro at will due to being extremely non-threatening. Only available name: Edward.

I’ve always found it weird that a shaman, who’s supposed to be the tribal leader of their people, and probably lives out in nature… Has the time to hammer out a set of chainmail armor to wear rather than just wearing animal pelts

Like oh yeah I live off the land and spiritually guide my people, but I’m also a blacksmith in my free time

Or hunters that hunt animals, have plenty of pelts and leather around, but instead choose to go mine some metal and forge mail armor…
Mail armor makes no sense on the classes that have it. It would fit warriors or death knights far more
