Is there really a point to having it? I hear lots of people on here say that it looks terrible. It doesn’t feel any stronger than leather. Only two classes us it and Hunters and Shamans should be in leather anyway. It would give Bliz less to create which gives them more time to focus on class design. I really don’t see the down side of losing mail armor.

Counterpoint: give us another class or two that use mail to increase its usage and aesthetic diversity. Dragonsworn would be a fantastic first choice, followed by something “quirky” or “edgy” like Tinkers or Dark Rangers.

I want more Mail pants without just ONE weird thing going on that ruins them. Like who asked for a different colored crotch? Who wanted shin covers only on the side? WHO!?

It’s part of the RPGness, different armor types. Converting it to leather would just remove something unique about hunters and shaman. Which is bad, no one wants that. Mail is perfectly fine staying unique. It doesn’t look like leather either.
Art is subjective anyways. And it would do nothing for class design. The art team who makes the sets and the gameplay one who works playstyles are totally unrelated things.

If anything should be removed it’s leather armor, cause there’s little evidence that it was used for armor in real life. Cloth armor (linothorax, gambeson), mail (scale, chain), and plate (muscle cuirass, medieval plate) were all commonly used by soldiers throughout human history, while leather armor seems to have been very rare.

I don’t think the art team not needing to make as many items will let them work on classes more.
Though they should add another mail wearing class.

Realistically, It does make sense a Hunter at least to be wearing leather.
You are out in the woods, forests, etc. You need to be mobile,stealthy, like the animals. You are not gonna be wearing clunky, heavy, noisy chainmail.
Has anyone worn REAL chainmail before? That stuff is legit heavy AF.

They would just do with mail what they did with the mail to plate wearers dude. They would just make all mail leather, all mogs go to it, and done. You would not lose any mogs

the mail sets are some of the best looking in shadowlands though.
Well getting rid got my vote. Much more mog potential with mail and leather combined.

There are SOME pretty good sets. Like the one I’m using.
However mail REALLY needs some better mogs.
I keep looking at the collection tab and all tier sets are pretty much garbage looking except maybe Mythic Nighthold.
