Is there really a point to having it? I hear lots of people on here say that it looks terrible. It doesn’t feel any stronger than leather. Only two classes us it and Hunters and Shamans should be in leather anyway. It would give Bliz less to create which gives them more time to focus on class design. I really don’t see the down side of losing mail armor.

Realistically, It does make sense a Hunter at least to be wearing leather.

You are out in the woods, forests, etc. You need to be mobile,stealthy, like the animals. You are not gonna be wearing clunky, heavy, noisy chainmail.

Has anyone worn REAL chainmail before? That stuff is legit heavy AF.

What you are describing is the wearing of furs. It is warm and the materials are readily available to hunters. Leather armor, in the few historical pieces available, was heavily processed leather combined with specific metal fittings.

Actually, when properly worn, mail armor is quite easy to move around in. While certainly not weightless, a person is quite mobile in chainmail in particular.

Hypothetically, we are soldiers in a very serious faction war. We’re gonna fight for our country of choice, and mail is so much more appropriate.

How about we:

1. Don’t get rid of mail armor
2. Double down and get another class with mail armor.
3. Triple down and bring back the sub professions for lw and bs, and mail armors shtick can be armor made from frigging scales. So cool.

Hunters are those that hide in the woods, live with the animals and befriend them, etc.

True, my shaman in Vanilla was a Dragonscale leatherworker so he could make mail gear for himself.

And Rexxar is protected by plot armor. So he is okay whatever he wears.

Technically, we have been protected by plot armor a lot too.

I mean good good…how many times our chars have died in boss fights in scripted events…>.>
