Get ready for wow on X-Box

They don’t actually require Xbox Live or PSN for subscription based games (or free to play games)

Lets see…

https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/deadly-boss-mods/files

The latest update to DBM was only 3 days ago, and has 491,173 downloads. That is sure a small minority.

What official source do you have for numbers doing LFR or Mythic Raids?

I’m fairly certain you still need XLive to even have access to internet on your xbox, same deal with PS.

I literally watched a WoW Dev yesterday on Twitter playing WoW with an XBox controller as he explained how there are not enough commands to port over to console.

He also explained the many crazy keybinds he had to pull off to get it to work.

Hardly seems like something one would do if consoles were on the horizon, don’t you think?

Sounds like the Sea of Thieves whiners. Xbox cross platforming with PC, and sometimes when an Xbox player died they cried it was because of the PC. Rare caved in and made it so Xbox can opt out of playing with PCs and unsurprisingly those same players were still getting rekt in PvP. Turns out most people they were dying to before the opt out were also Xbox players, but just better.

Oh. I was not aware of that. Thank you.

We don’t know how accurate the number is honestly, it’s like using WoW-pop to get population numbers, people redownload, download on multiple pcs, etc.

Doesn’t have to be official, they used to give official sub numbers meaning we could see who did what based off achievements.

uh. That number is 100% accurate lol. There’s not a shadow of a doubt there.

Nope, I don’t have PSN but I can play things like PoE on it.

Very well, good to know.

It’s accurate for Number of downloads, but that doesn’t mean individual number of people downloading it.

So, you’re going to say World of Warcraft subscription numbers is still somewhere in the millions (and I mean, like maybe 5+ million). I’ll put it this way, that is the total number of downloads made to that addon alone. You’re right, it isn’t accurate as some people maybe having issues and having to maybe redownload everything or some people maybe having to go to a friends house to play WoW on a friends computer. But that download number is as accurate as anything. And that is just of Twitch/Curse. Could be more of other numbers from other sites too.

Achievements from raids can also be earned in Normal and Heroic. Achievement’s isn’t proof of how many people do LFR and how many does Mythic raiding.

What? I mean if you download it twice it counts both downloads.

Each mythic boss had it’s own Achievement and the site API tracks individual kills and has for awhile.

Ok, you go ahead, and browse everyone’s profile.

Which site?

I hope it’s cross platform so I can mega dunk on controller scrubs.

Would not be a bad thing, more money for Blizzard so more money for development. Don’t see a problem with it going to console, just hope it goes to switch too.

Just for the fun of it, it we take the 491,173 downloads, and let’s pick a random number to assume, say 5%, that gives us 9 823 460. 9 millions. Let’s chop it off with a 10% just for margin of error and we get 8 841 114. That’s a lot of users!

So unless we currently have 8.8 million users, I’d believe that addons usage is more prevalent than some people think.

The main armory site, and you obviously don’t know how APIs work if you say something like “browse everyone’s profile”. You use a program to poll aggregate site data.

8,841,114 is a lot of users, considering in WoD, sub numbers was around 5 million before they stop showing the sub numbers count.

You’re still assuming every one of those 491k downloads is an individual person and none of them are repeat downloads.
