no one said you have to play it no one is holding a gun to your head!
I’m not quite sure the average gamer will enjoy raiding or dungeons without any addons on a controller
Idk, I have a sneaking suspicion the majority of players now play with little to no addons, a lot may not even know what they are.
If they did do controller support it would have to work like FF14 otherwise it wouldn’t feel natural for me if they used the action bars in a different way other that triggers and buttons.
Controllers on FF14 work really well. I hate FF14 on KB/M. I play exclusively with a controller. it feels like controller came first then KB/M came later.
I can see it happening especially since keyboard and mouse can be used with current generation xboxes and playstations .
They would just be another form of computer to store the game .
I guess you’d have to ask the millions of FF14 and ESO players.
Well that’s just untrue. Watch most high end player and you’ll see a bunch of addons. With DMB having 274,482,000 total downloads it’s hard to believe that such a small number of people would be using addons.
Are FF14 and ESO players playing WoW raids?
That’s 274.5 million downloads over the life of the addon, it counts every version update download and DBM updates A LOT.
And “high end” players are the extreme minority. I’m talking about the majority, who do nothing but fish, do pet battles, etc.
Very well. Let’s assume that.
Looking at the WoW page on twitch, you can see a majority of the streams using some sort of addon. The ones that have default UIs most likely also use some sort of addon, such as DBM.
And we’re still talking an extreme minority of players who stream on twitch. Also, if they’re arena players they can’t use addons if they want to participate in tournaments.
Sure, but unless you have any other verifiable source we can look at, this is the best we can have.
You didn’t say WoW raids you said average gamers.
And “high end” players are the extreme minority.
And how do you know that it is only a minority of players at High End content.
Right, I forgot I need to be needlessly precise with you or it doesn’t compute.
The game doesn’t tell you to download addons, that’s verifiable enough for me. The fact that it doesn’t say “go to curseforge and get dbm!” means that most people don’t even know about them.
If you’re not raiding in at least a normal guild, or doing M+, or have in the past, you may not even know they exist.
The game doesn’t tell you to download addons, that’s verifiable enough for me.
Omission is not proof.
…
We’ve had the numbers from the past. During WoD only 5% of players did Mythic. Over 70% did LFR.
You overestimate the avg person.
I would rather not add whatever the cost of Xbox live is to my monthly expenses.
