Monk ones seem pretty interesting. Though for Shado-Pan, how do Flurry Strike charges get used up? Is it a gradual usage or all at once? The behavior would affect the power of the Wisdom of the Wall and Against all Odds talents. With gradual hits, the Wisdom talent that empowers to be shadow would be stronger, but then Against All Odds wouldn’t make sense when it stacks up to 20 times.
It seems like the intention is to highlight AOrb and Surge for AE, as Splintered orbs/Augury abounds will interact with nether tempest. Although it would be very nice to have Abar work with nether precision(never could figure out why it doesn’t).
In the Overwhelming Flurry description, it says upon using 400 energy, unleash ALL flurry charges as Flurry Strikess.
So I would assume it will be all at once.
Wow, PvP is going to be interesting that expansion… I wonder if these will be turn off when you do rating PvP… just like PvP talents are turn off when not on War Mode.
Either way PvP is going to be a really interesting reading what some of these passive do! Pure Chaos, just the way I like it! (at least in World PvP and Battle Grounds)
I’m loving this!
Yeah the way of getting charges im not a fan of but im hoping it will get changed during testing to something that makes more sense haha
Seems like too much damage for an effect that triggers so often
Rider is going to make me reroll Death Knight and never look back.
Also, I know a lot of the names and themes are already set in stone, but why not Blood Mage for Fire/Arcane and Shadow Hunter for Enhancement/Restoration? The Blood Mage’s core spell, Flame Strike, along Pyroblast and Phoenix related spells are already available with Fire; they don’t need Banish. As for Shadow Hunter, Shadow Hunters already use shaman abilities and were a support hero that put down wards/totems in Warcraft 3, plus I would just really love a troll themed spec.
Yeah I lean towards that, but then what about the Wisdom of the Wall buff that makes flurry deal shadow damage to nearby enemies? If it expends all of them and in the middle goes past 10, I don’t know how that interaction works. I could maybe see it expending the charges super fast at least but maybe not all at once.
Maybe it will even root you in place like whirling dragon punch.
PVP is going to be a complete circus. Shadowlands 2.0 but even worse. I wonder if they’ll even bother trying to balance it because some of these new talents are completely game breaking. If they do balance, it’ll be just in time for the new expansion lmao.
Clearly I’m not feeling optimistic…
The more I read about this, the more I hope they pull the ripcord.
I can’t resist…what is the ripcord for hero talent trees?
The ripcord would be that they scrap Hero Talents and instead spend this development time fixing the current talent trees.
Because a lot of the current talent trees are crap.
By the look of things; the dumpster. Scrap it while it’s still in early development.
This has got Covenants written all over it.
Wow, I’m surprised that they released any of the monk hero trees already, much less the WW ones. I fully expected the first monk hero tree to be announced to be the BM/MW one.
I was wrong.
I’m more interested in the Shado-Pan tree, and I appreciate that there’s not more button pushes in it. I don’t really understand the Haste buff from Veteran’s Eye/Controlled Instincts, though. I mean, Haste is the WW dump stat, and I believe it’s the same for BM. Why would we want an ability to buff it? Or is there going to finally be WW rework that makes Haste important?
The Dark side are a pathway to many abilities people would consider… unnatural.
Like charging on a horse without first spending a gcd on freedom.
Druid of the claw looks great as a call back to the old unit and druid lore; with a workable proc and opening up some shapeshift utility/survivability the class has been lacking since legions reworks
Infact Druid of the claw and elunes chosen both look so good compared to wildstalker and keeper of the grove that it feels like resto is the problem, not that youre struggling to make good hybrid trees.
Aldrachi Reaver, this looks like this was the most boring thought out Hero Talent tree of them all. Oh boy improved glaive toss. Demon Hunters got 100% ignored.
Still having to tab out agony in a world where shadow crash exists is beyond my comprehension. Its clear you know its a pain point to have to put them out, but the new tree saves 1 tab each agony and assumes it tabs correctly. You know the solution, lower the CD of VT
If I am reading this correctly, there are instances of aoe damage in the Shado Pan tree that only does damage to “uncontrolled enemies”. Does that mean that CC’d enemies will not take the extra damage…? Most large trash M+ pulls are accompanied by lust, CDs, pots, and a ton of CC. Wtf?
I find people’s reactions amusing.
Some folks upset they have new buttons, others upset they have the basic same thing they have now (with a few rotational adjustments).
But I can tell you - if one of these talent trees is 1% better than the other option, 99% of the people will pick that Hero talent tree, regardless of their feeling about it.
Because someone said to do that.
The reality is that for the majority of the player base, the difference between hero tree selections will be mostly marginal.
So just play what seems like fun.
