Genn just hands away the kingdom?

It is, but that does not make for a compelling argument.

It’s as compelling as it needs to be.

People complaining that their fantasy monarchy doesn’t have enough sexism ingrained into it is gross.

Its a modern day fairy tale that doesn’t need to respect the way European history handled it. Which is nice.

This got a chuckle out of me. So true.

There are quite a few examples in game of how WoW’s monarchy works, but I guess ignore that just to argue.

There has never been a case of WoW monarchies not being primogeniture let alone inherited so I don’t even understand why someone would think otherwise.

There is one - Arthas was heir over Calia, despite being younger than her.

However, Lordaeron was a different kingdom, that was a different time, and Tess is a very different person. And also the only heir.

The current story in wow is that we just protected a tree, grown from a seed we got from the afterlife, from an evil dragon infused with magical fire.

People need to learn to just go with it instead of questioning whats historically accurate or not haha

Im pretty sure there were no elves or dranei in human history. So yea many this game ain’t about historical accuracy at all. It’s its own thing!

And Slyvannas already killed off the son! So yea…

I think Tess is good and makes more sense for a peaceful narrative down the line. Especially if we are working towards maybe one day having nuetral races for both factions for all races. Seems like Midnight is setting up something like that in regards with peace for the elves for example.

Blizzard has cultivated an audience that absolutely loves this kind of ‘modernization’ in their story beats. I have at most a cautious optimism that War Within will at least improve the story but I am expecting some disappointment regardless. Just give up while you’re ahead, they’ve chosen their path. Changing navigators does not always make taking that same path any better.

You either put a lot of thought into that image or none at all, either way 10/10.

Then everyone can assume the Monarchies within the game don’t work as they do IRL, so why say ‘of course it’s a monarchy, this is how it should work’. Bad argument, simple as that. Would be nice if people would stop being rude for others having a differing opinion on how things in Gilneas should’ve went especially for someone like Tess who has shown to not have the spirit of the Worgen anyways and all the times she’s in the game she’s generic and lackluster.

Another user did bring up the whole Calia thing where that kingdom (apparently) Had the rule that women can’t become the heir and it would’ve always gone to Arthas. So why assume it’s all a very specific type of Monarchy and that is how that specific land was going to be ruled once retaken from those that very clearly didn’t use a monarchy?

That’s a personal opinion, and arguably, one that ignores what she has done in-game to demonstrably prove otherwise. In the ‘Worgen heritage armor’ scenario, she proved she could learn wisdom, and in the recent ‘retaking of Gilneas’ scenario, she comported herself with insight and fortitude.

Everything you’ve stated has been personal opinion, and arguably ignores everyone else’s.

Proved she wasn’t worthy of being anywhere near Worgen story, yes.

Shown herself to let people that genocided her people back into the city without being watched, or any hostility allowed. So, no insight or fortitude. Just a poorly written character that seemingly doesn’t do anything or have really much of a personality outside of ‘just do all this stuff with no emotion/reason because the writers want it to be this way currently’.

To point things out, over in Ironforge, which (Was a monarchy by peoples standards because of King Magni Bronzebeard) Isn’t anymore.

It would’ve been a LOT better if they gave more reasonings for things, properly wrote her character, and I would’ve PREFERRED if they wanted Tess to be a ‘leader’ that she ruled by Genns side together.
