People asking for bigger stacks:
The total items you could carry in stacks (1,5,10,20) was intentional. You seem for forget the RPG part of MMORPG. The small stacks forced players to stop grinding/questing and return to a town to sell/use items. This forced you to take breaks and spread out the leveling process. #NOCHANGES
People asking for better drop rates:
Blizzard used low drop rates to “hide” grinding out levels. There is a reason why those damned Zephras don’t drop 4 hooves per kill. The quest would be done earlier and you would have to make the cognitive decision to grind levels without quests sooner than lvl 50+ #NOCHANGES
People asking for Barbershop/Transmog:
In Classic, your character was your avatar, your representation out in the world. Sure many people could look like you (the options were not many) but you could be recognizable from your gear and your toon’s appearance. If you really don’t like the look of your toon, you should know this VERY quickly in the game. Early enough to re-roll and send all your bags/coins to your new toon to get them started. #NOCHANGES
Only he’s not wrong. Tons of people demanding changes/features being added to the game is how they ended up there. Flying in TBC and beyond was requested by people who played during vanilla. That’s only one example but there’s been many others. People who had a hard time getting groups were the ones responsible for the dungeon finder. As soon as we got that, people complained about sitting in queues too long, so we got the cross server aspect put in also. It’s not hard to see that the things we hate about the game are the very things that several players asked for. As I said in another thread about this…this is literally a REAL case of “you think you do, but you don’t”.
I agree with what you said however on the fact that he’s not the only one who shares that view or belief. I’m sure that there are MANY of us who can attest to this and were there and saw the forum posts that demanded those things be added to the game or changed in some way
None of the changes made for BfA were demanded by players making complaints in the forums or elsewhere. The devs have their plans. They don’t take input from players.
That’s a major core value change you are asking for right here.
“I want harder dungeons and more loot.”
“The changes I want are good for the game and consistent with vanilla. The changes other people want are bad for the game and not consistent with vanilla.”
I feel for anyone saying this project isn’t about changes, etc.
So I would hope in the years to come, and if Classic is still successfully pulling in subs, that any + version was exclusive from the Classic we’ve been given.
Not in BFA specifically, but over the course of all the expansions from Wrath onward most of the changes/features of the game came from either players QQing on the forums about things they didn’t like, or things they wanted Blizzard to do to make the game more enjoyable for them. The only exception to this were the features that were added that many people were using through 3rd party addons.
And they’ll be playing the game and progressing while you’re whining on the forums about something you knew was coming since before you even started the game.
I was cheerful; wasn’t whining. LOL. Unlike you though I actually look at things objectively and don’t want to ruin classic, but would want the overall experience to be better.
I think it’s that you just are “hoping” people will get upset so you can chastise them for not sharing your opinion
I agree. Screw any changes. If you want retail “with JUST this small change” go host private servers with those changes for 13+ years and beg blizzard to make your version of classic a reality like everyone else had to.
Exactly, if you got some brilliant ideas, push for them to be implemented in retail where it is needed. Classic should not be changed based on forum complaining or Classic will be a POS in no time.
