Its superior to retail, but that doesn’t mean its the best incarnation of WoW…
I DID want Classic and fought for it, because it was the step that needed to be taken for the better versions to become a reality.

It is objectively not correct and not a discussion that can be had because you’d just be spouting your opinions on a state of affairs, and that’s not a discussion at all but rather some kind of internet circle jerk.
Fully agree with OP. NO MORE CHANGES.
It’s the inevitability when players who never wanted Classic get handed it for free: they want to turn it into something else.
All we can do is hope the devs stick to their word and stick to authenticity.
Changes are as much of an option here as they are in retail.
The big difference is that in classic we all pretty much know how the changes will play out. We are extremely likely to get TBC after the last planned content phase, and WotLK after that.
Arguing for faster implementation of those changes is obviously valid. We should be advocating for a better game.
Their word is that “Classic+, TBC, WotlK, etc are all on the table” so yeah, lets hope they sticki to their guns here.
So you did NOT want Classic. You just wanted Blizz to open their stance on releasing previous versions of the game, knowing that would eventually get you what you want.
And that’s fine, totally fine. But let’s call it what it is.
This but unironically.
I spent years advocating for a better game. Last month, I finally got it.
That was not their word. Ion said during the content creator summit that exclusive Classic-only expansions were not on the table. The two guys during the Reddit AMA said that TBC and Wrath are definitely on the table because they’d be much easier to pull off now that they’ve managed to make Classic happen.
I’m enjoying Classic for what it is so far, but sure… I’ll concede that.
Wrong. They said in Esfand/TipsOut stream that they’d listen to the community about what would be brought next. This was in response to someone asking about Classic+.
It’s exactly what you knew it would be and you said ‘I’ll play that’ and then immediately say it should be something else.
They’ve said TBC and Wrath potentially. Classic+ people are attributing to a very vague answer and in contrast to what Ion said that’ll never happen as it goes against the founding principles of Classic.
You think you did, but you didn’t.
Don’t worry, most of us get it. Remember we played retail for years.
Well some changes are good. We need to retune the end game dungeons and raids to be much harder for example.
@ Renascia
If it means not ending up with Retail 2.0, that’s right. Never change, Classic. We saw what happens when Blizzard gives in to the demands for the majority of ‘QoL’ people are calling for in this general chat.
We shouldn’t go down that path twice!
And now, we defend.
When I think of Classic+ I think about this …
What would WoW have become if it stayed true to it’s Vanilla roots? What would it have become if flying was not introduced? What would it have become if leveling and the world continued to be the focus?
I think that’s what the Classic+ perspective is. It’s not to downplay the goodness of Vanilla, it’s to wonder what the game could be given the right constraints.
I am a proponent of a pure #nochanges Classic Wow. I would also like to see a Classic+ that acknowledges the failures of the modern game and gives the development team a “second” chance to make the game that it could have.
It’s true that the developers may not have the chops for it, but I can dream right?
Hmm… thought on BFA vs Classic, friend?
BFA is moving backwards. Classic was great, they moved forward to BC, moved even further to Wrath, then Activision took over, introduced all of the backwards casual features, and have been dismantling the game ever since.
