Gearing is terrible and unrewarding because of casuals

Probably by completing the same content as the other player had to do so they could get where they currently are.

I’m not sure why you are saying “casuals” should get to jump three spaces just because they are casual. Each patch has catch up mechanics and has for awhile now.
Why is it so wrong for a player to start his journey with normal raids before doing heroic or mythic?

I don’t understand why a player should expect to jump straight into heroic without an understanding or ever seeing any of the bosses they now want to kill.

It’s pretty obvious that it’s an attempt to make those that want a more meaningful gear progression system to sound obsessive and elitist.

skill does not equal effort ever

Interested in what you think of the suggestion I posted above.

Hang on. Lemme look.

I’m not really sure why they think WQs give out 405 level gear anyway (protip - they don’t) but apparently I am a lazy lazy bad bad who wants a free pass into heroic raids or something, lol, so my opinion is invalid here wanders off

Never really got that either. Look at my gear. Highest thing I ever got was a 395. Rest of it was from raiding and doing +10s.

I take it this is what you’re talking about. Which for the most part I’d be okay with this. Part of me irks at the upgrades being able to go to 425 but if there’s a proper progression system that takes time and effort then I wouldn’t howl about it. It gives back player agency while allowing you to power yourself up at your own pace.

So all in all, I’d be fine with this.

We’d be talking about a month’s time of work to getting one item to 425 (the costs do exponentially increase each time you upgrade). It would probably be more efficient for that person to work on getting more of their items to the 400ish range, which would also take quite a bit of time. Either way that would only be acquired by actually playing the game and participating in most of the content, basically. Just a rough idea anyhow. Thank you for checking it out.

I’m a damn filthy casual and proud of it. I play the game with ZERO drama. I get gear that gives me the ability to do emissaries, WQ, Invasions, and random BGs. I have yet to step in a dungeon or raid in this expansion. I play every days for at least 6-8 hours. I am a filthy casual and play for fun, not who has the better gear and complain how they got it.

They wouldn’t do it.Because there wouldn’t be a balance when casual want gear.If so then mythic+ system will have to be redone and that would cost the company more than having the system they have now but just modifying it. Besides all gear now will be replaced coming 8.2.

No problem! Thanks for putting it together!

How would the M+ system need to be redone? It could remain the same as always and would contribute to the overall gearing program. With higher M+ keys awarding more points. And as far as new patches/expansions and such come out, the numbers would obviously be different but the general idea would remain the same, just adjusted. I used the numbers because that is where our current levels are.

“Casually” playing the game 42-56 hours a week lol
That’s a full time job matey :joy:

If they did but highly unlikely they would this far in the game.

Because it’s now harder for him to feel Superior to others because of his gear score.

Why do mythic raiders NEED 415 gear when Method was able to clear it at ~410? The answer is they don’t. Why do you NEED non-mythic raid level content to reward gear far below Mythic raid gear? The exact same answer applies here, you don’t. You want it to. The exact same answer applies to the question you asked me. People want gear progression because gear progression is fun.

You want gear progression, go from world questing to LFR to normal raiding to heroic raiding to mythic raiding. It seems like you want to feel good about your gear without actually putting the effort in.

Why do I want it lower? Because you don’t deserve it. That’s why.
