Gearing is terrible and unrewarding because of casuals

Gear mattered less then that it does now though. The world didn’t scale. I had no more problems killing something as I hit level 60 than I did grinding it out at 59.

The difference is now when I hit 120 I’m like a newborn kitten trying to solo a dragon boss for any normal world trash mob. I actually need this inflated ilvl gear or I’m going to spend 50g on repairs every time I die trying to kill 2 mobs at once.

Nope, you are wrong. You can’t define what “work” is for someone else in the game.

Don’t understand what you’re talking about. Now your heirloom gear scales to max level, whatever drop you get you vendor, that’s not “gear mattering more than then”. You’ll rarely get an upgrade from quest while leveling.

I can define what entitlement is, because it’s already defined in dictionary. You want gear? Do the little work it requires, don’t ask for free gear.

You used it incorrectly! So, I don’t think you can read the definition.

Killing 8 boars is incomparable with:
-Getting into a group
-Travelling to a dungeon
-Completing the dungeon

-Doing several bgs and getting 370 pvp gear drop

Nope because I don’t DO group content  I’ll be happy because elitests will be away from the live game and more likeminded peeps will be left

I’d be for it. Would just be concerned about spreading the team too thin across all these aspects of the game.

that was also a game where leveling was the game.

fun fact they weren’t expecting wow to take off like that and molten core was basically designed in a week scrambling for max level content.

classic is far from current retail i’ll give you that but basically getting gear in vanilla is like living in a famine compared to live. If you are starving obviously you will freak out over stale bread. maybe some people want to be starving and get excited over stale bread. that is fine. basically what we have now is everyone can afford to maybe eat at chipotle now instead of dollar menue mcdonalds and people are complaining everyone isn’t starving anymore before we even had mcdonalds at all.

Well then Blizzard should add singleplayer ways to gear, which isn’t “Kill 8 boars and get loot”, so maybe instead of saying “this is great”, go “we need something challenging for singleplayer content”.

So everyone that doesn’t like BFA and want to play Classic are elitists? If so that’s some shortsighted thinking.

I think you maybe correct about spreading the team out a lot. This could be why things are as they are now with a non ideal system. Maybe they don’t have the time/man power to get a better system.

You do understand how drastic Blizzard changes are? If that does actually happen, and you’re left with like 10k people doing pet battles and such stuff, they’ll change the current game drastically to how it was before, and you’ll hate that even more.
Making new expansions costs a lot of effort for them, and if there’s barely any players, they’ll try to shift their ways, if Classic is a success, you can expect current game adapting to Classic values. Which means no free gear, you’ll have to run group content again, when you could’ve just asked for singleplayer rewards instead of free gear.

Ugh trying to remember. But I think Taliesen said that Blizz are trying to get rid of titanforging but they don’t know what they can replace it with. So I think they’re trying to take suggestions for it. More than likely won’t hear of any significant changes until the next xpac.

None of my heirlooms are upgraded past 110. I’m not the only one who didn’t shell out thousands on them. By your logic of I’m not supposed to be rewarded for anything I do because it isn’t end-game content where would I even get the gold to pay for that?

My point is the world scales now. My 290 quest greens aren’t going to take me very far at 120 when everything has twice the HP I do and can easily kill me if I get a 2nd mob on me.

I am surprised 370 gear is causing you to lose sleep. Everyone needs a path to gear even if you don’t agree with it.

Even if they’re level 60, you get absolutely no upgrades on that slot until level 60, and most of quest rewards are for those main slots.

Sure, keep thinking like that, but as I said, making new expansions is a lot of work, and if people are fed up and go for Classic, you can very well expect current game going back to it’s roots in a rigid manner, and you will not like that. I was hoping islands could be fun and challenging content for 3 players, close to singleplayer, but it was a fluke, and instead of people asking for something like that to happen, a singleplayer to <3 challenging content, they want free gear.

Anyways gotta go, stuff to do.

Info note, the heirlooms and dungeon gear at 60 up are the same in stats. They fix it so there the same.

It is wishful thinking to expect Classic to take over or seriously impact Retail. I don’t ever expect to see Vanilla type systems in Retail.

I did hope for something better in Islands also. I really hope they can improve on their “Bot” AI to maybe have some more exciting and more challenging systems in the future.

Thanks for talking and have a good one!

Question,How would you gear up when you have a limited time ,since the game is now set on fast pace?

That doesn’t help me when 2/3 of my characters are already 120 though :stuck_out_tongue: That’s why I’m not interested in it - I’d have to pay for a mail set, a plate set, and a leather set for just 4 more characters.
