Gearing is terrible and unrewarding because of casuals

Which had nothing to do with your statement at all

WQ azerite pieces can be the exact same quality as raid azerite. You said that was hyperbole and you were wrong

Lmao, the last time I drooled over anyoneā€™s gear was back in BC when I was leveling, and I saw the warlock tier gear. I honestly thought the warlock faces changed to blue and black when they leveled, it was the tier sets.
I was such a noob.

Iā€™ll admit when I first saw bloodfang I was like wow that awesome.

Not really. Your original statement had no qualifier pertaining to AZ pieces.

It was something to strive for, which sadly seems to have completely disappeared.

I just think maybe you used the wrong word. Since hyperbole didnā€™t fit

Most likely because I was responding to Voxplaga who most certainly did use hyperbole to support a position.

What about that is hyperbole? Thatā€™s a factual statement

Shrug, that is a 3 months after release problem for BoD. In the FIRST month of BoD anyone running M+ was gearing out in 400+ gear faster running +10s than bothering with raiding. If you looked at first mythic kills from BoD, most of the players were swimming in M+ gear instead of raid gear.

Another massive gear inflation is about to hit too, 8.2 will push everything from Season two into the toilet almost instantly. So the current philosophy from Blizz is that gear is transient, you will replace everything you have at least every 4-6 months, and you can gather gear as much as you want only limited by your playtime/choice of content.

LMAO You think you can outgear raiders in 20 minutes of WQ lmao.

No it isnā€™t. WQ and and emissary pieces are usually inferior in terms of itemization and there are some AZ sets that can only be obtained through raiding, and are vastly superior. Notably some BoD pieces that completely outsim anything obtained through quests or dungeons.

They already developed a hardcore only game like you ask for. It was called Wildstar. It died cause nobody played it.

Blizzard caters to the casual crowd because the casual crowd is what keeps the game alive. Whining by the ā€œhardcoreā€ playerbase is ignored for good reason.

Well, sure, but +10 isnā€™t world quests. Tbh they need to bring tier sets back.

Unpopular opinion (this is directed at the OP):

I donā€™t think people that just do Mythic+ 5 mans should get raid ilvl gear.

But you donā€™t hear me crying at Bliz to get rid of that gear. Iā€™m perfectly allowed to have that opinion, but I also donā€™t think Bliz should make decisions on gear based on what a small percentage of people think.

Why is it always people that just do Mythic+ that seem to have this ā€œCasuals shouldnā€™t get gearā€ mentality? I very rarely see actual Mythic raiders with this attitude.

Iā€™m also smart enough to realize that this expac is extremely RNG based. If I was raiding still, I definitely would not be complaining about WQā€™s doing the gear thing. Why? Because RNG generally hates me.

True statement. The entire playerbase hates that they removed that. It was iconic to each class.

That might have been true when tier sets were a thing. Now anything from anywhere can all have the same stats/traits on them.

Case in point. Mythic BoD Blazewing Hood is BIS for locks and there is no emissary or mythic plus that offers it. You literally have to be progression raiding to obtain it.

Once again. Normal and heroic are the difficulties suffering from the trivial content ilvl bump.

Except that normal and heroic BIS donā€™t suffer from trivial ilevel bumps because theyā€™re still BiS for their specific item level.

Normal and heroic arenā€™t progression raiding, again. Most guilds have it cleared within the first 3 weeks and the ilvl bump happens after that.
