Gear upgrade, heritage armor bug

Good day,

I have posted a bug ticket for this, but i wanted to inquire/discuss if the gear update/ heritage armor bug. Could potentially be affecting players whom had returned before the stat squish from 2 expansions back. As I have just come back after a fairly long hiatus since BFA.

I theorize as my char has gone down from lvl 120- 50 and than using the gear update, It may consider itself as being boosted. This may be possibly whats preventing the start of my human heritage armor quest. As I have also attempted to alternatively try lvling my lvl 48 human rogue to 50 (Gear updated). But still am unable to trigger the the starting heritage quest.

All this is speculation off course, but the very thought of such seems complicated.

Bad news is a gm wouldnt be able to fix it.

Thats unfortunate, perhaps the only option maybe to just lvl a fresh toon to 50 if thats the case. But with that stated, lets see what news the support staff can advise, before i rush into that. I’ll leave my post up for future discussion/Reference.

Did u race change ur human toon at all prior to the stat squish.

Not that im aware of…Dont think i’ve done a server change.

Well acording to the blue posts the bug that was causing this shouldve been fixed any further issues were due to other factors.

Thats what i’ve read as well, from the forum post i’ve perused. Looks like Im just gonna ahve to do this the long way.

Gear Update disqualification was hotfixed back in July per Vrak’s posts in this very thread, and per his latest back in November, the system is working as intended.

I can’t see it on your posting character, but do either character in question have Exalted reputation with Stormwind?

Both characters have exalted with Stormwind, but Some sites are stating that reputation requirment for human heritage may have been removed, while Wowhead is still stating reputation is still a requirement.

Bug Reports aren’t accepted via tickets, so I’m not sure what path you used or what you did here, since I’m not seeing you having made a bug report on the appropriate forum for them.

Due to there being no outstanding issues with the gear update service, from what you’ve offered there shouldn’t be any hold-ups in getting the questline.

You can try shooting a ticket here:
https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/contact/471/ticket

Now. Just to stem the initial worries. You will likely get a templated response offering up some suggestions to check out. This is normal. They try to offer other resources so that folks don’t have to wait on the turnaround time of tickets. With that templated response, there should be an option to the tune of “I still need help”. Hit that button and it’ll kick it back into the queue for a GM to check into things. It may take a little bit of back and forth, but make sure to emphasize that you’re not looking for any game hints - only that the quests are not showing up for your human characters. (GMs can’t give game hints, so I do like for people to make sure to emphasize that part.)

Also, please pay no mind to the ticket timer that’ll show up on your game interface. That’s a timer based on the oldest ticket in the system. Not your ticket specifically.

It may be that one of our SFAs will be able to pop their head in in the morning, but you can at least get a ticket in in the appropriate ticket path to get your place in line at least.

Thank you for the reassurance, I have taken the steps provided, some prior before posting here, but wanted to ensure I wasn’t missing a step to tackle this issue. Thanks everyone.
(UPDATE: Turns out the reason the quest wasn’t triggering is because i havent reached lvl 60 on my account, this seems to collaborate with some post regarding their chars hitting 60 and triggering the quest)

I don’t think race change is meant to be an issue with base races like humans - only with allied races. This very character completed the blood elf heritage quest, despite having started as a dwarf.

Vrak mentioned another player that did just this thats why i asked.

It doesn’t. As mentioned, that was a temporary bug that was fixed back in July.

The Heritage Armor for a Core Race, like Human, have no specific restriction against using a boost or faction change. The only requirement is that they be of that race and met the level requirement.

I’m not sure if you looked at the support article on Heritage Armor for the Core Races. You must be level 50 to get the quest, but you also must have at least one level 60 character on the account.

To be eligible for a core race’s Heritage Armor you must have a character of the respective race at level 50 and at least one level 60 character on the Battle.net account. Once all the criteria are met, you may start the quest line for your Heritage Armor.

As your highest level character is level 53, you don’t yet meet those requirements.

Edit:

And… right after I hit post I read your update. Glad you figured it out.
