Gear is rating gated for SL

ok why are we pretending that to get into a higher bracket u don’t have to beat the players in that bracket now?

why are we pretending everyone at every rating is gear equivalent now bc i haven’t slain anywhere near the amount of mythic bosses I need to have bis gear so?

I will write it again

Lmfao what??

I thought the max ilvl rewards were at 2400, like BFA?

2100 I think it is.

Very reasonable if so.

Yeah, you have to outplay them while you have a gear handicap.

It just makes it harder for players to climb the ladder.

The playing field is tilted against you.

it makes it exactly the same as it has literally always been what is this delusional act ur pulling

From tbc - wod everyone used the same bis pvp gear (with a few pve item exceptions).

Templates were fine but bfa is the first expansion this is not the case

People put in more work than you. Put in the work, you’ll climb the ladder.

If you take issue with having a 50 ilvl difference, I’m on board with that.

If you’re scared of a 2-4 ilvl gap between 1600 and 1800, the gear isn’t the problem.

It’s going to be fine. I swear people panic simply for the sake of panicking.

If you want to worry about something, worry about pve trinkets.

I’m fine with needing to push to 2100 to up my ilvl.
I’m less fine with needing to mythic raid so I can get a game breaking trinket.

ok great work now explain all of this

pve items in bc wotlk
crafted rings and accolades in wod

Slands won’t be like BfA. And other expansions weren’t exact same gear until middle of the season. But even then people would pvp on alts that weren’t exact bis gear.

Those are the FEW items that marginally helped. You CANT compare that to needing 80%+ of pve gear in bfa and to be determined amount in slands

One reason I do kinda support pvp scaling (if it has to stay) is the exact 2-4 ilvl difference is even less due to added “balance”

Won’t need any pve gear with these new rating requirements giving mythic level gear.

We’ll definitely see, early on you probably will want to farm pve content to be a good deal ahead of pvp gearing pathway alone

I mean…
Wotlk had that legendary 2handed weapon. I think it helped a little more than marginally.
Was it MoP or cata that had the legendary caster staff? Think that was also quite gamebreaking
TBC had legendary glaives. Think those were important

A far greater issue than a 2-4 ilvl gap between brackets is needing to mythic raid to be viable.

If the “set bonus” of pvp trinkets isn’t improved, I can guarantee you’ll see mythic trinkets in the arena scene SL season 1

Probably wouldn’t hurt but not mandatory.

I really don’t take issue with running m0’s to expedite the gearing process. I don’t speak for everyone, obviously, but I enjoy mythic / mythic +. Raiding not so much

Why not have a level playing field?

People who miss the early rush and play later in the season will hit a wall when they try to climb the ladder because they’re a raid tier or two behind their opponents.

Is there even a catchup system for higher ilevel PvP gear in Shadowlands?

again what are u talking about? are u attempting to insinuate that glaive rogues/shadowmourne/cata staff/dragon soul items/multiple seasons of 2 set bonuses being bis/rings and accolades didnt exist or are u just literally confused

As opposed to… any other season in existence? If you join the game late, you’re at a a disadvantage.

If you hit a wall, it’s because you need to improve as a player. It would also be recommended you engage in other elements of gameplay.

I’m just not seeing the logic in thinking you should have things handed to you. Join the season late? You’ve got some work to do.
