No, it is explicitly items exchanged for gold. Is someone poorly reading this to you or are you doing it yourself and simply not understanding what all those words mean when put together?
If I’m trading you gold before a run and that gives me items, you’ve made a transaction for items with gold.
Like I said before you’re free to disagree I’m not the one risking that ban.
Boosting/carrying is allowed. Its also allowed in retail.
you say the community, but its not mine. and i dont buy gold. there is no left or right, black or white. This will make me taking 8 characters into the dungeon harder in p2 than it was with gdkp
no matter your stance and hatred to RMT, I do not do that, i worked hard for my coin, this gets me into a group quicker than other raids due to my scheduling. with it removed there is no incentive for carry, there is no incentive for a lead to get it together on the fly.
Sure but SoD is the only one to have those rules and that’s what we are talking about.
Retail has rules against buying items for gold too
It doesn’t.
They do. Since wod if iirc
There multiple reasons why gdkp never got popular in retail, one of them is that blizzard wasn’t allowing them
lmao bruh you said something without saying anyting. and yea, thats what we are talking about. and its just dumb this is what we are actually talking about. you cant just say “hey thats teh rules now” you are arguing for it
i do believe you arent trolling and thats sad

Nope. You’ve made a transaction to ensure the items go to you should they drop. Which is not “awarding items in exchange for gold” as the gold is not directly exchanged for the item.
Retail has explicit rules against exchanging raid items for gold. It does not have any rules regarding selling aotc carries or loot funnel runs because those are not exchanging items for gold.
Individuals and guilds selling boost or assistance in raiding, dungeon, or PvP activities for gold is allowed but can only be advertised in-game through the Trade Services chat channel. Advertising for gameplay activities should be done by a WoW player-character who intends to participate in the gameplay activities. This means there should be no cross-realm advertising, and there should be no advertising from non-participating players.
That’s only about advertisement. People do sell raid loot on retail, there are no rules against it.
They don’t sell discrete or specific items. They sell loot funnel runs which count as boosting or assistance in raiding/dungeons.
This is the reason why the GDKP ban rules are worded the way they are, paying gold to get boosted through a raid and fed loot is perfectly legal and will remain so.
They do sell items.
Inform yourself, the only thing that stopped it was pugs couldn’t trade across realm. This got solved in DF.
Do you know how retail loot rules settings work?
I wonder how exactly they plan to “ban” this practice?
Apart from relying on reports and checking logs GDKP raids will simply go to third party services to organize and control these raids. The demand is high how else are there so many of these?
That will happen.
However, many people won’t do it anymore because they don’t want to risk getting banned, which is already good because it helps reducing the amount of gdkps and more importantly gold buyers.
I don’t think it’ll reduce gold buying that much but one can hope. If it moves towards the retail model of selling carries it’ll just be the same. Many GDKP’s will do some extreme gymnastics to remain in business but the problem is really just the convenience of it. Having to use 3rd party software or some token buy-ins is inconvenient.
Oh I agree with you, some will find a way to handle it.
However, gdkp will be out of the mainstream. Most people don’t want to bother to do very strange things to bypass a ban.
In addition to that, Cataclysm will purge gdkps (or more so gold buyers) by itself. The difficulty curve gets too high for buyers.
And the moment gold buyers are out, bots will reduce and inflation starts slowing down.
bring back gdkp
so now, instead of gdkp’s. we will now have buyer runs. now it will be more expensive and incentivise people to buy gold.
good job, you took the W
