Yeah, that is a given. I’m not debating that it would likely lower prices in GDKPs (probably would lower it more on fresh servers, any non-fresh server is already out of control). I’m just stating they will be run. As long as a GDKP gets a carry more gold/hr than any other action. Which is likely to always be true.
Why would it be more gold per hour than any other action? It’s about the demand from buyers (which RMT helps sustain) and the fact that other gold farms get so much competition from gold sellers.
So no it’s not obvious it would be always the case without RMT.
I talk about it here:
Oh true I forgot the part where they don’t give the loot to the other player.
As an example, through the entire history of this game, items that sell for exorbitant amounts have existed, vanilla through to today. Epics in the AH selling for thousands of gold has pretty much never been uncommon. So the concept that a handful of popular GDKP runs existing where the best gear in the game is on offer, will still see items fetching high prices in a GDKP in a world where all gold sellers are banned, meaning high payouts likely always exist.
The GDKP gold pool also never really shrinks. It tends to often be the same people running it save for the odd buyer, the gold is just moving from one account to another most of the time. The total gold on the server as a whole is also always going to be increasing.
This means if you can go knock our naxxramas in 1-2 hours and you make more than an hour of dailies or farming ore, you’d always see GDKPs exist, even if their profit margins shrink a little.
The only universe where GKDPs cease to exist, is if other gold farms are more profitable, or yield better items.
Did he ever post the logs, I can’t read all this
Not all GDKP’s are scams but some are. Just like any group or thing you spend time or gold on you got to be careful.
I don’t disagree that elite guilds progressing faster could still make good money carrying. But the possibility to make big profits with GDKPs is diminished for most players. Essentially I am saying that gold sellers greatly increase the return of GDKPs for the average player relative to almost everything other goldmaking methods, because if you pay people to farm gold or you set up bots, they can farm dungeons or mine or herb or play the AH all day, but raid lockouts are limited and raids require more skill. It’s basically comparative advantage.
So you joined to get a carry only if you buy gear for gold. You didnt and got kicked?
Maybe join a guild if you want a free carry
No, he did not post anything. So the only scam i see at the moment is the post from Andelran. Anyway my rule is to flag as troll any post about GDKP because its a scam 99.9% of the time…
GDKPs are transparent. A couple stolen pots doesn’t make it a scam.
