GDKPs are a full on scam

You can hold rolls but they will still leave if it doesn’t drop.

Happened a lot with SSC/TK, and at the same time gdkps really started taking off so I migrated to them.

Mankrik honestly does mostly ms/os, i barely ever see gdkps.

Guess our experiences are just different /shrug, i will only ever join ms/os raids.

How are GDKPs different from boost runs when people funnel you the gear for gold? It’s crazy this stuff is so encouraged when we are scrambling over whether RDF is okay or not…

Yeah, gdkps are fine if they have relatively low mins. Like 500 min bids are fine. I would avoid all gdkps that have higher mins as those are clearly designed to bleed rmt whales. Seen many sunwell runs with 5k min tier bids.

Low mins dosent change the price of the good items and only makes the uncontested stuff go cheap.

Reasonable mins are not there to bleed whales they exist for fairness as otherwise as eg a tank I can go in and get all my gear for nothing as no one else rolls on tank gear.

Low mins are a sign of a badly run gdkp that is not there for fairness. It has nothing to do with being after whales.

5k min bids are reasonable mins for sunwel your not going to find even the crafted boes lower than that on the ah it’s a quite fair starting point.

Without that even min point your pot is not balanced between the classes with competition and those without payout wise. Those without comp are way to skewed in low bid runs.

Your min bid should be approx 1/4 to 1/2 a slightly under avg payout lower than that is unfair to those with comp on gear higher than that makes not sense.

a DK in full S4 is not a pure buyer imo. Especially if they are beating out the carries

Items should cost what they are worth to the people bidding on them and not arbitrarily decided by greedy organizers.

But hey, that’s why there is a choice. To each their own.

You’re underestimating the effect of RMT. It doesn’t just inflate prices, it also breaks the connection between time invested in the game and gold. Without RMT, there aren’t as many players that have so much gold relative to their gear.

I say players, not characters. Someone might make gold in GDKP on their main and spend it to gear their alt, but that doesn’t bring net gold to the GDKP system.

It will still be a good loot system but not nearly as profitable.

Yes they should be and a min being high dosent change that.

As if the item is not worth it to you, you don’t bid a high min only sets fair pricing for the raid to keep it even between those with compation and those without. Otherwise it’s completely unfair some specs and roles get all there gear at basicly no cost.

Which is fine. IF you were running with a guild you would have no competition anyway and get it for basically nothing, it should match here.

There will usually be offspec bidders putting things up a bit.

No it should not match. As those roles get a equal payout. A guild dosent give payouts making it not a relevent comp. As such there costs also should be equalized to a point.

There is no reason to set a min bid of 1 for example when the avg payout is 20000. Only for eg a tank to get a complete set of gear for 15 gold than get payed out 19985. When a avg dps needs to pay 10k give or take for a item.

Yes offspecs raise it a bit but almost never to the level of a main spec item as such the point stands. As even offspec gear should not be dirt cheap.

A min bis set a basic fair level for if you want loot while keeping payouts fair. So the runs are not unfairly profitable for set players. Min bids even out how profitable the run is accross the raid vs making set roles just vastly better.

Gonna have to agree to disagree on this one.

Someone entering the raid with 5k they farmed should have a chance to collect and bid on scraps, while working up their bids for bis items that have competition on them.

5k they can get scraps. Most sunwell gdkps have starting bids of 2k on scaps 4-5k on weps and tier.

Those are rather common accepted and used min bids.

Which as payouts with those bids are norm around 10-20k these are rather fair min bids as that person is leaving with double if not more there starting money.

500 is a joke of a min bid when payouts are at that level and a insult to those in roles with competition that would than allow me as a tank to go and get a full gearswt for less than they pay for one item.

Very childish mindset. I had to pay $5 for my burrito but the guy who I need to run the content at all got his for $3 reeeeeeeee

Not childish at all. What is childish is the need to resort to name calling and degrading another since you have nothing good to say.

Yes you would be annoyed if someone is getting 15x what you are getting for the same price or less.

That’s not childish that’s normal.

The market addresses this by setting prices on stuff. In a auction these prices are min bids set to create a balance.

any medium to high pop server had several.

Lmfao defensive much? Hurry shield wall last stand

No idea about nowadays, but they used to say if loot rules are discussed in in game chat they will uphold those rules if someone ninjas.

Obviously they have no gms anymore so I doubt they would do anything even if you had proof.

They never said they would uphold loot rules even in og classic.

They only ever investigated scams.

Meaning in the case of loot rules posted they would take the items away from someone who scammed other users to get them they never gave them to another user.

Blizzard has since og vanilla publicly said they will not get involved in loot issues. They will only investigate scams. In the case of gdkp pots they won’t take them away from players as they dint scam anyone the master looter thou can have gold taken from them if you can show he scammed a player up to the total value of the pot taken from him alone. Scammers thou just put the gold into a gb so it’s no longer “theirs” even if they got sole control of the guild so it’s not taken. This gold just goes poof blizzard will not give you your cut. As you traded the gold away in a legal transaction for a item if you bought one. And blizzard will not step in to see to the distribution of a pot only remove gold from a scammer.

This is why reputable runs are so important.

You GDKP, if you cant afford it you get gold at the end of the raid… save up… and boom… now you can afford it.

Shoot i used to charge 1k per SR and SR stuff for other people whether it dropped or not… They were buying that gold too.

Put it this way. Cheaters gonna cheat
