The only time I ever participated in a GDKP run was years during Cata. I DPSed, the raid leader collected gold and handed out loot to the buyers and it was a smooth run. And then at the end he just logged out and didn’t pay any of the carriers. I harassed him for several weeks and opened several tickets but nothing ever happened to him and I never got any gold. He got about 10k gold that, to my knowledge, he got to keep. That was my first and last GDKP experience.
I like to pretend like they don’t exist but the constant advertising makes it tough.
Sucks that happened but I am sure people have similar experience with ninja looters and swore off pugs altogether.
Run with reputable established gdkps and not trade pugs
They need to go after the source of the issue - RMT and bots.
If Blizzard created an active and effective team of real people to investigate and hand out suspensions and bans for engaging in botting and RMT, including tracing activity back to main accounts and banning them too, it might make a dent.
Of course, it would not stop GDKP or carries or whatever new name for some form of ‘I give you this, you give me that’ runs, but it would reduce their prevalence.
It would also help in other areas of the game as well, such as inflation.
Faerlina discord has both Faerlina Court, and a Blacklist for this purpose. Court so folks like you can make a case for a scam run, and a blacklist to track bad actors, ninjas, guild bank thiefs, and all manner of crap people. Might want to see if your server has a similar setup, good chance they do.
It’s not uncommon to see someone payout cuts if they are under threat of a blacklist.
I’ll have to disagree on this point, I will agree that blizzard absolutely needs to tackle bots and rmt for the sake of the game health. However it wouldn’t really curtail GDKPs in the slightest, and it may even out the trajectory of inflation, but won’t really blunt it. GDKPs would still be a fast and efficient way to make gold for players who have the gear to carry, and it will always be desirable as a way to guarantee you get an item you are chasing, so buyers will never be in short supply.
Prob is for court and blacklists to work OP first needs to learn how to make a claim. Something he has shown he lacks the basic int to do.
He has been asked quite a number of times to provide the runs log and rules. Not once has he. Even in the court system those are fundamental. The fact hes unable shows hes beyond help and he brought this on himself. Likely by not understanding the vary run he joined. In the faer court he is more likely to be the one blacklisted the the host of the GDKP for slandering another player without grounds.
This is a nice way of saying - it is (essentially) a boosting service for loot. Kind of like saying we’re moving things to the cloud – just a sweet, nice term for - we’re outsourcing your job.
It is all in the marketing. Tickets are the scum just like boosting services are – and this is why so many are against tools that mitigate this problem.
LOL
Correct. They were there, but very rare.
What has been going on with classic is insanity. I don’t understand these people. This system is not fun or engaging. It promotes gold buying and nonsense. It’s not a positive game experience.
It shouldn’t be allowed.
Yeah, no doubt he would have to actually prove his case, was just stating he may have recourse. If he didn’t collect the basic info we’d expect to see, at least now he’d know to collect that in the future for protection.
I’d rather go to a GDKP than “BT LFM MH Glaive HR, Skull HR, 1 of each tier HR”
GDKP is drama free except for the people that don’t understand what they are signing up for.
It is in fact fun and engaging in fact those are the vary words the classic lead dev used to describe GDKPS. You might not like them but fact is GDKP is the most liked loot system by many.
IT vary much should be allowed and this is the classics lead devs official answer to that also as a note.
It vary much is a positive game experience to get something no matter what in the run either by buying loot or getting a cut. Unless going in as a pure buyer and that you know what your going into from the start.
A system with clear rules and clear outlook is quite nice and wanted.
Also GDKPS where not even that rare. I remember on my server seeing them rather constantly in wrath on illidan not at classic level but FAR from rare and it only got more common over time. You see at least 5 a week on illidan in wrath thats not rare thats at best uncommon. While most where just not advertised as din’t need to advertise when so few so there was quite a bit more than you seen.
While even entire guilds used it as there go to loot system. My guild in cata did this.
Sounds like the GDKP you went to was a scam.
Or you didn’t top the meters.
I’d believe either tbh.
GDKP incentivizes people to stay the entire raid, press their buttons really hard, and give everyone a completely fair chance at loot.
It’s hands down the absolute best pug loot system in the game… there is no close #2
Eh, that’s arguable, someone who doesn’t mind breaking the rules is always going to have an advantage.
That said, i only do MS/OS pugs cause I just don’t join GDKPs
I love GDKP groups, I run them as Hybrid or pumper and get a lot of Gold in a week for it…around 10-15k a week
Can’t run those any more. Some people only need one boss, sometimes at the very start of the raid.
Once they beat the boss…
And you are stuck in an endless loop of replacing people and it gets harder as you go.
Never had that issue, if it’s that big of a deal you hold loot rolls til end of raid.
You people have legitimately destroyed any real feeling of how Classic was. So much so that you are the reason TBC was deleted. Congrats people you’ve done more damage to Classic then anyone else could have.
Hell I don’t even have to try. I get to sit back and watch as you burn it all down.
