I’m not advocating for the removal of gambling. I’m against your REASONING for NEEDING gambling to be your “way of life” through the game.
Likewise, those against gambling are against it, for the wrong reasons and don’t really care about said reason via gold buying. They care about being “first” and mad that they’re “not first”. I find both arguments silly.

You aren’t BETTING anything in a gdkp, you aren’t putting anything at stake, there is ZERO gambling involved.
You are BIDDING on items and then PURCHASING them with gold. You dont lose your gold if you lose a bid.

What I call your preferred raid type is IRRELEVANT. How about this? IDC if AH raiding exists. Your REASONS for AH raiding is my only problem. You want to “be paid for your ‘services’” and think without AH raiding, Era will be “dead”. Get over yourself.
EDIT: And to add, removing AH raiding does NOT remove gold buying, for all those anti-AH raiding. I’m tired of them pretending like they care about gold buying, but they don’t.
So a majority of pug raids in era are gdkp, and a majority of soft reserve runs aside from zg/aq20 dont full clear their raids.
A majority of gdkp groups are made up of people that dont need much if any of the gear in these raids and are there purely for gold or to get a very specific item.
If you dont see how gdkp is the main thing keeping endgame on era alive i dont know what to say. You’re high on copium if you think all these players would continue business as usual with soft reserve groups.
There are other loot systems besides gamb…I mean AH raiding & SRs. You said, yourself:

I don’t see how gambling…I mean AH raiding is keeping “end game alive” due to how popular HC became without it, through their own works and means. Which tells me, ANYTHING is possible, as long as ONE person is willing to work hard to achieve their goal. It’s just gonna take time.

It just occurred to me that maybe the entire reason you hold this stance is because you actually dont know how gdkp runs work and are comming to conclusions based on false information.
But, I’m done with this “back and forth”. I’m no longer going to engage with both you and Owns (who I don’t really believe is against gold buying, since they’re defending a gold buyer by remaining silent on the matter).
This is the LAST TIME I’m going to say this:
Removing Gambling Events/AH Raiding is NOT going to stop gold buying. People who say this don’t actually care about gold buying. If they were, they’d join my fight, in getting a particular somebody banned for ADMITTING to gold buying, ON CAMERA, but they seem WAY more concerned with the paid premium additions to addons instead (sigh)
And, Gambling Events/AH Raiding are silly and a waste of gold. And, the defenders have an ego problem and think their “service ‘needs’” to be compensated, and their “service” is “keeping Era alive”. Edit: if bids are gambling, then the AH is gambling. Sure there’s a buyout option, but some auctions don’t have that. So you have to bid. Is that gambling?
