Yes, that’s why most abandoned Vanilla Classic, in the first place, and those that stayed, transferred to more populated realms, to “progress” in Vanilla. I agree, it’s this whole “first” mentality. I’ve been saying that. Unfortunately, neither side is gonna be besties, in this discussion.
Not every week, I need a break, too. But, yes, there is a minority, like myself. Which is why I’m still on BB as a non-HC, so raids aren’t really happening but when they did, I don’t mind helping out, and if all I get are scraps, better than nothing.
And, that’s fine. I can still be appalled by it and find it silly, just like I’m sure most think I am.
I just find GDKP a silly system, and that’s OK. I just don’t partake in them. Sure, that doesn’t stop them, but at least I’m practicing what I’m preaching, and that GDKP is not for me.
These anti gdkp people dont seem to realize that a lot of gdkp groups are mostly guildies or long term acquaintances and are quite social sometimes
They seem to think they are all some kind of souless cutthroat underworld raiding scene.
Ive seen countless guilds that have more toxic raiding environments than organized gdkp runs.
Once again… The way GDKPs made have originated is not what we have today, at least 90% of them are super toxic and yes, contribute highly to gold buying.
if you are in the 10% then obviously this thread is not meant at you. But, if you are even carrying one person that is not part of the guild to sell stuff too. I hate to break it to you it might be a whale that has bought gold.
Again, you have zero idea what 90% of them are like.
It is not our job to police the game. Everyone who buys your auctions could have bought gold but I highly doubt you’re mailing people that buy your auctions to ensure they didnt buy gold before you accept the payment.
I dont need to, because its truth that you have zero idea of what 90% of GDKPs are like. Ive been GDKPing for 13 years and even I dont know what 90% of them are like.
What I can say is that 90% of the GDKPs ive participated in there was no drama, no toxicity, nobody left early, nobody degraded another person and the content was done fast and efficiently.
If 90% of the GDKPs are what you say they are, I would think after a 13 year sample size Id have seen them be what you say they are, they just arent. They drive up demand for RMT but like I said, everything that involves gold will drive up demand for RMT. You could reset all the gold tomorrow, ban all gold buyers/sellers and botters and GDKP would still be the most popular and best loot system for pugging. Everybody gets gold at the end unless you’re in the minority of GDKPs where they do not let pure buyers get some of the pot or if they have the parsing rules where grey parsers dont get any split which are also a minority of groups.
Yeah I run the same group in WOTLK. Ive been in various other ones on WOTLK with other alts but Ive been running with the same GDKP (its a discord gdkp organization not necessarily the same exact people every week as they fill according to comp) since about midway through Naxx to current.
GDKPs became popular in MOP but have been known to exist since OG TBC. In the classic series they became popular just after AQ and have been popular since.
No one group is going to last 13 years especially transitioning from retail to classic. Never thought I would have to explain that.
