GDKP (PayPal Looting) is a toxic gold buyers paradise

Kayberz go check the AH on your server. Look up some leveling gear prices. I bet there are some items that are way overpriced. Do you think they are that way because people buy gold? or does GDKPS contribute to those high AH prices?

Everyone in the raid getting the cost of their consumables+ much more payed to them turning what would otherwise be a gold sink into a consistent source of profit for running raids they wouldn’t be running otherwise is so cringe

Back in my day people kept this amount of cringe private and didn’t show it around town , so much cope😑

Uhh…

Since when has “leveling gear” NOT been overpriced

No good player buys gear on the AH on their sub 60 character unless they have tons of disposable gold. Its not a thing you should be doing regularly if you are concerned about gold

Buying gear on low level alts from the AH has always been a trap for impatient players

May as well just buy a boost at that point

Obviously, we’re on two different wave lengths.

So, you are ok with boosts and gdkps. Noted.

I never boost toons because its a waste of gold and defeats the purpose of playing your character in the first place.

But if you’re gonna be buying random greens off the AH just to get marginal stat increases on your low lvl characters to insignificantly increase your leveling speed its no wonder you might be struggling to save gold

I have never had a problem saving for anything. Always, have my mount by lv40 and if I am lucky with drops usually have my epic mount within a week of hitting 60.

There are sometimes where a gear upgrade would be nice but on mature servers good luck trying to pick up anything off the AH at a decent price. Everyone is trying to get those whales to spend that hard earn gold. I bet since you have an excess of gold you have no problem overpaying for anything if you were to level a new toon. You might be incline to boost that new char because of all those gdkps you have done.

You have zero idea how the majority of them are, you only know about the ones you watch (protip - streamer gdkps have toxicity and gold buying for content) and the ones your friends have been in.

You’re more likely to get geared up faster in a guild run than you are in a GDKP. You could buy 10,000,000 gold today and not get the drops you need for 6 months. Just because you buy gold doesnt mean you get to pick and choose what drops or how often it drops.

You’re welcome.

You ever think that maybe the fact that people have been playing and earning gold for going on 4 years and the recent surge in interest in Era might have something to do with things being higher priced? Its not rocket science.

yeah, because new players have unlimited amount of gold. lol

It doesnt matter what the new player has, it has everything to do with a new market and people trying to capitalize on it. Just because things are listed for high price doesnt mean people are buying them for that price either.

New players NEVER should be buying greens on the AH on their fresh characters that they cant bankroll with a lvl 60 main.

Thats always been a noob trap, even on fresh week 1 servers, its never worth it if you’re actually trying to build up wealth in your account, its purely a luxury.

The joke

I’ve seen some pretty outlandish “P2W” claims like…
Trading, at all = P2W
High levels running low levels through dungeons, for a fee = P2W
Paying for ANY form of advantage, including potions = P2W

Since, this is a Vanilla Classic forum where no such “boost shop” exists, and you’re intial claim was

I inferred everything else, the shop has to offer. But, I guess, you purposefully left that part out or forgot.

The only way to “buy gold” in Vanilla Classic is through illegal means. Though, getting gold is not hard, in this game. Even without an economy. Be frugal.

Unless, you’re playing on China servers, the token does not exist in Vanilla Classic.

“Buying Service” is so vague and can mean, anything like a Mage Port or Food & Water.

Even if we’re talking about Retail and Wrath, I still disagree with you.

'Cause I find anyone buying gold to be wasting their money. OR, those who obtained their gold, without buying it and wasting it on GDKPs rather silly. Where’s the fun in tjat? Sounds like a boring way to play and missing out on so much that this game has to offer.

It doesn’t take gold nor buying it, to stop and smell the roses.

If all you’re interested in is BiS, then I guess so. Too bad I’m not, and I’m not the only one

Yep, that $15 to play the game, phew! Totally game breaking!

GDKP is popular for many reasons other than winning gear with gold. In general the best way to raid is still with a guild and that wont stop being true. However when pugging GDKPs are generally more structured and has better players in them than MS>OS, HR, SR pugs. For instance, in Classic WOTLK you are more likely to get hardmodes and algalon done in one day than you are in the alternative loot system pugs. The GDKPs tend to have over 75% of the roster being the same people every week so you get to know them just like you would a guild. The fact that if you didnt win anything in the raid but leave with gold gives players who dont need anything a reason to join the raid, theres really no incentive for someone who doesnt need anything from the content to go to an MS>OS, HR or SR unless theyre there solely to help you as a friend.

Exactly.

I don’t believe in buying that “friendship”, hence why I find it silly. You made it clear you have ulterior motives, and it disgusts me, but at least you’re honest about it.

Its not really buying friendship. Most of these people are alts from the same guild. Its funny that you zero in on the word incentive and disregard all of the pros to the loot system though.

IK this is a subjective argument, so there’s no real objective truth, here.

But seeing how you wrote this:

I can’t help but think, I’m buying your “friendship”. I have to pay you, to hang out in which you call “carry”, but I digress.

Again, at least you’re honest about it.

Think of what its like for the person who joins your SR that they dont need anything. They’re just running that content for 40m to 3 hours for nothing. Generally people dont pug to make friends, theres a personal benefit there for them. You will get the minority that just like the content so they still raid it every week but overall people are progress minded and after years of running content and getting nothing out of it people are getting tired of leaving with nothing, especially when theres a loot system where you get rewarded for participating in it. So yes, I will not carry players for free but I wasnt really looking to make friends with you anyway. Id be more inclined to make friends with the ones who show up every week and that Im not really getting gold from because theyre hardly buying anything anyway.

The carriers I would raid in their guild if I wasnt committed to the guild I was in. The buyers I really dont care about.

Sure, as long as you are “GETTING” something out of it. lol

The guilds would be MS>OS. The thing I am getting out of it is raiding with great players. Not players like you.
