I explained that a bot farming 100g/day in P1 and selling for $20 is just as profitable as a bot farming 1000g/day in p3 selling for $20. Gold prices are a reflection of inflation. Bots can scale up or down to meet any demand.

He was stating that bots have infinite demand and infinite gold. I asked then why were gold graphs changing in price, wouldn’t they be the same. No real answer was provided. I then said if that’s the case couldn’t 1 gold seller monopolize the market. His answer was no he’d get undercut. I explained that eventually someone would be the lowest seller and price everyone out of the market. He didn’t like that so he said other’s would move in and undercut them dodging the question. Eventually someone would be the lowest. My issue was why isn’t there a monopoly and why have the prices changed, which go against his argument. He had none

This was literally some of the things we were talking about. How dare I point things out to you and be right.

Just because you sell more product cheaper, doesn’t mean you can keep up with demand. More bots equals more bots getting banned and that alone would invalidate your argument right there with unbanning GDKP’s.

Blizzard alone as pointed this out, all discussion is useless at this point. Reason being, nothing we are saying will change their minds at this point. Blizzard knows something we don’t and their silence is telling.

I’ve literally made an argument before. I was showing my points to yours. No reason to get all upset because I’m making sense. I get it, you cannot answer the questions. For the others in this thread that didn’t read the exchange what happened was this:

1. The claim was made that GDKP would result in more gold buying.
2. I challenged that claim, saying that gold buying is still happening and bots are still quite active. So what’s the reason for thinking gold buying is down?
3. Gold prices were presented as a reason. Suggesting that lower prices means demand has fallen?

You are looking at it in absolutes is the problem. I’m trying to look at this as in reality. What I’m trying to say is if bots are scaled up and some are getting banned how can they keep up? See I understand what you’re saying about the bot scaling. Even if they do get banned the demand for a RMT is still needed. Eventually if the demand is high enough the bots won’t be able to keep up. There is nothing limiting the demand for RMT’s, however, the bots can get banned. If the demand for RMT’s isn’t high enough then I see there being no issue with bots keeping up, even if some are banned.

GDKP has always been an imperfect solution to a very real problem. I exclusively run GDKP for my guild as well as pugs because it is objectively the best option I have, despite the very obvious downsides. GDKP in the current form is a 5/10 loot system (at best), but it is so much better than random rolls, loot councils, or any other alternative we have available.
