I’m a large fan of culture-influenced music, no matter what it is.

I’ll give it a few more posts before I explain what those 2 tracks had in common

Listen and learn, ya whippersnapper! Ol’ Pappy Elmer is gonna give you some auditory homework! In no particular order, this is awesome music from back in “my day”, so grab a fresh bag of Werthers, some oatmeal, some Olde Tyme Lemonade, a rocking chair and and get ready to holler at the kids to get off yer lawn!

Incorrect. The Beastie Boys are hardcore Philly. And even then, The Dead Milkmen are far better because they’re not corporate sell outs.

These guys grew up in West Philly, depends on which side of culture you want to see.

I use to live out past West Philly and use to travel through it on the way to work everyday, they’re pretty damn close brother.

But you’re not wrong, those ones are definitely up there and I agree with your comment about being sellouts.

For such a busy/commercialize city, The area’s outside of the main metro area are extremely rough.

I miss the old days and my childhood now. Adulting is hard.
I mean I really feel old because my youngest brother doesn’t even know what “commericals” are and he knows them now as “ads” lol.
Also don’t think he knows what a Pencil Sharpner is lol.

You know dang well them pencil’s friggin’ hurt lmao. Sharpeners were a joke haha.
I like me cushion mechanical ones and even then, we need to evolve into not even using pencils anymore! The time is now.

VHS player, phones with cords, tv with dials, I miss recording movies on a vhs tape, the tape didn’t last too long though because of all the rewinding and fast forwarding. I sound old lol!

Oh God, the other day I went to help my ol’ grams with her T.V. and it had buttons on the remote, like numbers and crap and I said “What am I suppose to press?”
…
Come on grams, get Alexa like the rest of us good folks. I was crackin’ up because I literally could not remember how to use a remote.
