My point is that commercial relationships do not rely on “respect” as currency. No respect is due or accorded. It’s simply a matter of personal opinion and whether or not paying customers are happy or unhappy with a given product.
Respect is not even a factor here, nor should it be expected to be.
There’s plenty of “disrespect” that goes around on the internet, but in this case, people are just expressing their opinions on whether WoW deserves an upvote. Admittedly, there are some harsh opinions on the subject but I wouldn’t label them “disrespectful”.
I would honestly love to vote for WoW, I just cant bring myself to do it personally. And this is coming from a player who has roots, like many others, stemming back to the days of WC3 RoC. With where WoW is currently I just can’t bring myself to vote for it. The only thing keeping me here are friends, and Roleplay. Anything else past that I just find as ok.
If I had to vote I’d have to give it to FFXIV. Their classes are fun, they’re engaging. The story is incredible. The detail and the characters are awesome. The crafting blows WoWs out of the water. It just has so many more things going for it.
But thank you for bringing this to light. Its good to hear people feel that WoW still holds up compared to other games to compete in this competition.
Will you make another blue post when the results of the nomination come up, and this game is ranked last? Seriously, this game is garbage and you’re BOLD to even post this here. Talk about hubris. The only award this game deserves is “Bigger Let Down Than Fallout 76”. Even that dumpster fire had player housing, which is more of an RPG than this supposed MMO-RPG.
75% of the new content that comes with 8.1 will not even be available when it launches Dec 10th. All we are getting is a few tweaks and maybe the warfont? Sad. So many other games more worthy of this meaningless award.
I’m sorry, I started laughing when I read this sentence, laughed my way through the post, stopped laughing when I remembered the reality of the state WoW is in, and now I feel dead inside once again.
If I were to vote, I’d honestly skip the MMO category. Not that I hate BFA as much as most of this forum, just that it isn’t award-enjoyable for me. This definitely isn’t the biggest lolcow to be nominated for an award, though, that goes to FO76.

Nah if they really want to play a High Elf all they have to do is faction swap to Horde. Their High Elves are waiting for em there. #MrBlizzardConfirmed
While I dont agree with the person in who you’re responding to as far as being part of the problem in why WoW is the way that it is now, to many others FF is much better than WoW.
Its all a manner of opinion and what you find enjoyable in an MMO.
There are people who think B is better than A because A scorned them (they didn’t) and thus are now blindly loyal to B. There are a lot of reasons, and you’re right, I shouldn’t blindly shut someone down like that. I met poison with poison.
Honestly, the choices in the category seem kind of weird. All of the other games are listed by just the base game name (like Final Fantasy XIV), but WoW is listed specifically as the current expansion. Which is it supposed to be, current iteration or just the game in general?
