Game Time Disappearing

I made a thread on GD about this, but it got buried really quickly with all the new expansion discussion. I’m gonna copy and paste the thread here, to hopefully get some answers.

Let me preface though, upon further investigation into the issue, I no longer believe Blizzard is intentionally doing this, though I did at first. I’m pretty sure, at this point, it’s some kind of glitch. So I’m posting here to both ask for answers and maybe bring it to the attention of someone who can look into the problem.

The Magic Disappearing Game Time

So there’s something I feel I should address right now…and what perfect timing now that everyone is completely on fire with distraction about the new expansion. Forgive me, I only discovered this recently.

Some backstory first; I use tokens for game time, so I’m constantly adding a month of time, at the end of every month. It’s all I can manage. That being said, I believe Blizzard is slowly draining me of my added time, hoping that I don’t notice and bring attention to it. Well I did and I am.

It started about 2 weeks ago. 2 weeks before that, a month ago, I added a month of game time. It said it would run out on the 19th of April. I remember that, because I said to myself, “Hey, that’s the expansion reveal.” 2 weeks later, I moused over my game time and saw it had been changed to April 18th. Giving Blizzard the benefit of the doubt, I just assumed I remembered wrong.

So fast forward to April 18th, yesterday, I wanted to make sure I had time to play a little before I had to reup, and I looked at my time, it said it expired at 8:51PM. It was around Noon, so I thought, “Cool, I got time.” RIGHT before I added more time, a few hours later, I checked it and it had dropped down to 6:51PM. Interesting. Now I was sure it wasn’t bad memory.

I have no proof of any of these claims, as I didn’t think of taking any screenshots for evidence, until yesterday. After I added time, I made sure to take a screenshot and keep an eye on it, to see if it would ever change again. Well, it did. Twice. In one day.

The above link will take you to 3 screenshots I took of my game time. The first is when I first added 30 days, the second was earlier this morning and the third was just a few minutes ago. They are clearly slowly draining me of my fixed expiration date, to…what? Make me add more sooner than expected?

Hey, you tell me what’s going on, I have no idea. I don’t work here, I just play here. Anyone else noticed this happening to them too?

Best i can tell you is when in doubt check ur subscriptions in account management that will be far more reliable.

I wasn’t aware game time added with tokens shows up there. Appreciated, I’ll check on that as well. I’m still curious why the date keeps changing though.

BNEt launcher can be buggy.

Just for clarification transaction history will show game time purchase mine showed

Games and subscriptions will show when it expires mine for ex since i used a token

There have been a few threads that seem to point towards a possible bug with the time displayed in the launcher for some reason.

But the account management section with Game Accounts info should sho the exact time on the account despite what the launcher wants to think

True. If I see my time dip back down again, I’ll check my account to see if they match. Maybe it’s just the launcher glitching out. Will update the thread if I can.

The listing of your licenses on the GAMES & SUBSCRIPTIONS page will just show the date when your current game time expires.

If you click MANAGE for the relevant license, it will then display the exact date AND time for the game time expiration.

People who have a recent history of having paid time on a license are often given a couple of days’ grace period when time runs before the account reverts to unsubbed.
So, the account management page may show no time remaining, but the launher will show up to 2 days remaining.

The point is that there appears to be two different methods for calculating the remaining time. The launcher method seems to be a bit wonky. When in doubt, the battle.net account info should be used.

Indeed! We’ve had it looked into a few times and there have been past bug fixes put in. I’m not entirely sure if these are new bugs or if something got reverted. The website has been the most reliable/accurate though.
