Fixed it for you. :wine_glass:

Okay i didn’t, i just need a reason to make these “dead game” threads somewhat enjoyable.

With how often DF goes on sale, I’d imagine its not doing as well as Blizz expected. I will say 10.0 was off to a good start. Once 10.1 hit, several of my friends logged on for 4-5 weeks, got AoTC, skyrocketed to near 440ilvl and haven’t logged on since the end of June. They are mount/mog collectors but not even the mounts in 10.1.5-10.1.7 + the trading post were enough to lure them back.

A lot of drop off when this expansion started and some new came but again drop off happening. I hope new expansion not too far away.

You do realize that the long Season 2 coincided with the release of Classic HC?

And that Classic HC chat is constantly rolling and the fact that you can free transfer to regular Classic is reviving regular Classic as well?

The game isn’t empty per se, people are just pread out throughout these 3 platforms.

I don’t understand what people want it to be, its 20 years old, there are newer games that tell different stories if you don’t like the one theyre telling at the moment. I just get the urge to run around being a goof in an mmo world every few years, myself. When it’s not fun for me anymore, i stop.

I agree it’s not what it used to be but I disagree with the notion of it being all of a sudden. This game has been bleeding off players and gradually losing interest from gamers in general for years now.

It did not start with DF.

It’s an old game I don’t know how much a dev can do to recharge or rekindle the spark of enthusiasm players once had for it.

I mean because the game didn’t just change over time we did as players. I personally liked when the norm was you had to interact with other players to accomplish things. I miss leveling not being a joke. When’s the last time you saw people have to group up to knock out certain quests together because you just couldn’t solo it.

But then I also hate level scaling. The original way of zones being designed for level ranges was more engaging. Since level scaling the zone doesn’t matter.

Guilds that actually talked on the regular not just when raiding, people in guilds actually helping each other. Now understand I know some guilds are still like this, my point is now the are the exception not the norm.

That stuff made the game fun. But today people play with the don’t talk to me leave me alone I’m just getting my 8 done or my raid done or whatever done and logging mindset.

Classic WoW

Classic HC

Classic WoW or WOLK

Classic WoW

We still need to, but very few people want to form a party, just more like “who wants to go screw around and kill stuff at X Destination Where Mobs Are Higher Level”. I feel like players are afraid of interacting with each other almost. Which is a fun circle the MMO has made.

Playing WoW was supposed to be my downtime. If I’m committed to doing chores, might as well get to the IRL ones I’m putting off.

na just most people have finished what they wanted to do in the season and with season 3 starting i want to guess early nov people taking a small break from the game

Xbox will save us

Come play Epic BG’s. Lot’s of people there. Bottom of the barrel people, but still people.

Guy/gal I know there’s different flavors of the game, I’ve played it since 2005.

Your answers don’t address retail.

It just say we’ll go play this version if you want that and that version if you want this…

That’s a solution to good game design ?

Doesn’t feel good playing 25 v 12 games.

It’s a small price to pay, but Epic BG’s always have players in them. Sure It’s the same pool of 1000 players recycling each other, but it is active.

And half of those is Ruin premades. No thanks.
