Game is dying

Yes but have you ever seen it this bad before? Sure it will pickup some at the start of 10.2, but it’s never been this low before.

I can’t even find some random low key to do, all I want is 8 M+ of any key level of any dungeon just for vault slots, but with only a dozen to choose from with most being somewhere in the mid to high keys means I have to put on my game face to do those runs and I don’t want that, I just want some braindead runs to have some fun with.

Perhaps the game just needs another population exodus to elsewhere by losing 50-70% of its current population again. Then perhaps Blizzard will be more intent on listening.

I’ll just sit here with some popcorn waiting for them to continue defending the over-population that they are observing somewhere in the game.

The game’s old, dated, a decade behind technology that current games are being made on. Guess what? People quit playing Pac Man and Tetris, too, except for nostalgia’s sake.

Even Tetris got remade :dracthyr_lulmao:

People have literally been claiming this since 2008 with LK my guy an here we are 15 years later

If I could dig up forum post that old I could literally show you

Its more weird to me that people want to pay like 500k per character to fly instead.

And the chore is what again? Exploring zones?

we can save it.

a few million people remain. we can band together and watch the world end .

Some people just prefer old flying, for one reason or another. Blizzard stuck it behind PF out of spite I guess. To your point, yeah, we still have DR, so it was asinine to do so.

So yes, despite being one of those people that prefer old flight. I will not be doing PF. I have better things to do with my time.

with all of your time? you never have downtime from your better things?

But listening to what? Maybe the minority of players in the forum which represents a minority of players in the game has it right. Maybe they don’t. Here once again, the various reasons people have given in this forum as to why subscriptions are down. Are they all right? Some of them right? Some contradict each other. Here they are:

Reasons people have given for the “Worst decision ever made by Blizzard”.

  • When WOW was first created it was one of the only D&D like MMOs around. Now there are hundreds of new ones each year.
  • In an industry where 5 years is middle aged and 10 years is an antique, WOW is an 18 year old game competing with tons of new technology.
  • The trend these days is toward social media and mobile where WOW doesn’t play well.
  • Some say it’s the story writting particularly in BFA and ShadowLands.
  • Or it’s the toxic culture of the players that’s causing people to leave.
  • Others point to specific abilities like “borrowed power” that have been taken away.
  • Next we hear that it’s time gating
  • Death. Wow players aren’t getting any younger, and younger players don’t share the same attraction to MMOs… particularly ones dominated by older people.
  • The questing requirements are not long and grinding enough.
  • The questing requirements are to long and grinding.
  • They heard Activision say: “If you don’t like the game, go play something else.”
  • or… “The game is not meant for you”.
  • SL had too many mobs close together.
  • The Horde/Alliance cold war.
  • The China fiasco.
  • No regular flying at expansion launch is what killed the game.
  • Dear Blizz you cut this feature I loved so I quit.
  • Fed up with the loot system/RNG
  • Want an MMO with less focus on dungeons and raids
  • They want RPG content
  • No player housing
  • Long server down times.
  • People don’t like power systems.
  • LFR !!!
  • WoW is too hard core.
  • Blizzard cut employee bonuses by 58% despite getting a strong fiscal year.
  • In 2009 WoW = 5 button rotations, in2023 WoW = Massive 20 button bloat rotations.
  • Blizzard managers have changed priorities from creating a good game to making money.
  • Ending 10 man Heroic/Mythic
  • The developers turned WoW into a lobby action RPG
  • And now: The content is throwaway/obsolete by the next patch
  • And the number one reason people no longer like World of Warcraft …
You can cook food but you can’t eat it.

Lol, another doomsayer?

Gotta love OP’s incoherent babbling.

I’m gonna be that person…

I’ve logged on only a couple times over the weekend to do the timewalking dungeons. They’re boring - quick and easy runs with very little interaction; I try to spark conversations but no one really wants to chat.

Almost all of my WoW gametime right now is spent in Classic Era HC. It’s ridiculous. I’m enjoying it so much I don’t even understand it.

The paranoia of getting whacked in the game is high.

There are LOADS of other people playing. The world is constantly alive.

I wish retail was this alive - I would play it then. But it’s not. So here we go… agane.

There is still a player base it’s just spread out over 4 different games: retail, HC classic, classic era, and wrath. It feels thinned out and it is. This will only get worse if they go ahead with Cata.

it is, it’s just that not everyone is crammed into a tiny space.

will CPR or zapping with the pads help :open_mouth:

You want to see something funny, run a lvl 1 orc into Org on whitemane classic, insane levels of people online, just absolutely nuts.

would you duel a level one twink :open_mouth:

Is this true? That would have been on a Saturday too at night?

Babies be having babies.
